Update: Managed to get the polini tool needed to remove the clutch, its all back together now. I also got a carbie kit for my wg8 carbie.. next issue: When I finally got the motor running when I apply power now the motor seems to bog under and will usually die.. I have adjust the idle on the carbie and its fine.. in an effort to tune the carbie I have tried every setting on the other adjuster and it still bogs down when I apply power. What am I doing wrong? apart from the two adjusters on the carbie is there anything else I need to adjust. Worth mentioning I have cleaned and cleaned the carbie + its also got the new Kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Morgy Was on there... but man there is some angry people on there. Proper Teed off about there polini 200's.. I love my polini thor 100, I have had it more than 3 years and its being pure flying bliss. (Pics of the strip down on our facebook group 'Paramotoring Australia' 9 members and counting) OK question, so I have fixed the motor now piston is running free now and now I am putting it all back together my question is do I need to put any gear oil or two stroke oil down the crank shaft, was thinking a couple of teaspoons yes no. I will of course fill the gear box reserve with gear oil.. Many thanks, Darragh

Hi Guys Yesterday I decided to give my polini thor a major service. Before I go into my problem with my Polini thor 100 has anyone replaced the rings on theirs yet, If so do what item code did you use. On the polini parts list there is one for the piston and rings together 928 020 001 . Also did you get the parts through polini or source them locally. I took the carbie apart and cleaned it fully no problem there. I put it back together and tried to pull start it didn’t fire up as expected.. I left it a while and came back to it and it felt like the bloody thing had seized, To confirm it was not running after the carbie clean out when I went to start it after about 1 hour if felt like it was seized. I tried to pull start it but would not turn over – Removed the spark plug no joy! Removed the pull start no joy! Removed the cylinder head to inspect and could see nothing wrong. I then removed the cylinder shaft so the piston was free everything looks fine. Now I start to move the piston up and down by hand via the pull start cooling fines. I can get it to turn freely but at the same position in one cycle it becomes very stiff, it is possible to do the full cycle but as I said gets very stiff at the same point. My understanding is in one cycle the piston goes both up and down? I for the life cant think what the hell happened from the carbie clean but I need to get to the bottom of it. Could it be the bearings? Crank shaft? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys Finally managed to finish my video. I used Final cut x and compressor. Took a while to get the hang of it. I upgraded to a 27 inch monitor, what a difference it made. The video was shot in western Australia, I was going to make two video but it all ended just being one. Simon way back you recommended the Paramania fusion 23m, finally got mine after some confusion and have to say I am very happy with it. Vimeo quality is so much better, I am still convinced the gopro 3 clips on you tube look better, I am using gopro 2's which on paper are very similar. [vimeo] [/vimeo]Cheers, D

Hey Guys I had my first unforced landing on Sunday.. I knew conditions were not the best but I promised a few of my friends who had not seen me fly that I would try and get airborne!! Big mistake. I was thrown around like a rag dog could even get back to the take off point as I was being pushed back, I ended up coming down into a area which I was told later was great place for spotting some of the worlds deadliest snakes in the world. I landed pretty hard on my left foot in some bushes and my ankle is like a watermelon, lucky nothing broken just elephant foot for me and me walking around with crutches feeling sorry for myself. The paramotor is fine but the carbon props are not looking too good. Q. do you think they can be fixed.. I bought them for 150 pounds a while back. Dont know if its worth sending them off to get fixed if so how much do you think it would cost to fix? Would you try to fix yourself? I am usually very careful--ish when it comes to flying, lesson learnt. If conditions are not good leave it for another day. I have being off work for the last too days, man it gets boring very quick not being fully mobile!! D

Cheers Simon, good read indeed. Next question: Who uses compressor and does it make a difference for uploading material online. I know final cut x is a big step up from imovie takes a while to get the hang of it. I would love to know why is it when general folk upload there videos online most look very compressed, while some look excellent. Also has anyone worked out how to automatically play videos in higher rate, you-tube always drops its to the lowest quality. Cheers, D

Mine is an i7 so should be able to handle it. It has 4gbs of ram.. I just ordered 8 so that should help. Do you guys when editing store your files on an external drive. On the forum they say it helps not to have the files you are editing on system drive. I may have to call into the apple store to ask the spotty kids some FCX question. Also if we are getting serious who has the apple cinema display, I am using the one in work and man its really a good display.

Hey Guys I have a newish late 2012 Macbook pro 15 (lion OS), I have been editing my paramotor movies on Imovie and they are fine, moved onto Final Cut X and its dog slow, anyone who using it how have you configured your set up, Do you edit files which are on external drives, is 4gbs of ram enough. I like mac but they aint half a pain in the ass sometimes. Going back to PC's after this macbook!!

Hi Terrie I agree with the above about the parajet frame (volution) I think its the best frame in the market by a long shot ... last weekend I was at a meet up and a guy with a Nirvana Rodeo had his frame totally smashed from a non take off, he didnt even hit the ground and the frame smashed from the lines getting caught in the prop very bizzare.. Machine was brand new!!! Go for a tried and tested set up thor and volution frame...

Hi Based in Oz now, its all my own gear. We rented a campervan and did some serious driving up the west coast. Lots of road kill on the way, great trip good times. D

I am with Simon on this one, when ever I fly its usually for about 1 max any times. A thought just come into my head! If I had this electric paramotor would I be able to safely bring it on standard passenger flight as luggage or is it a no no like petrol motors?? D

I will also vouch for Clive, He sorted me out for my motor pre bulldog days, and even now looks after me for serviceable parts. I am sure he will hear soon enough that you have gone to a public forum looking for him. From what I have heard from Bulldog owners i have not heard a bad review yet. D

Ah I decided to get it in the end. I watched the video on u tube and then watched the original clip I was not impressed. One of my work mates broke it down for me 'Tis only $1.50 per week' which is nothing + plus I dont mind supporting the vimeo team. I will try it for a year, I really want to ramp up my videos ,I waiting for the new macbook to come out in June. My old macbook (2007) is still going but using imovie on it is starting to be a struggle. I had a taste of Final cut X... So easy to use!! I know you can adjust video quality on U tube but most folk just click and play, they are not to bothered about quality. Whats the point in having all these great cameras if they look not so great online. I have being doing some research into ways of making the videos look online. I have a 12 min clip uploading now. Hi Guys Has anyone paid the $50 dollars and went for the vimeo plus. I just uploaded a 12 min to u-tube and it looks rubbish. I played the source file out on my 42 inch tv and it looks great, on u tube it looks heavily compressed. Cheers, D.

Hi All I am looking into getting a second motor, I am currently living in Australia. I usually go back home about once a year, I really want to do some flying but travelling with a paramotor so a nightmare! I am looking to get spend $1500(thats pounds! no pound symbol on my keyboard) I dont want to get one on ebay so I thought I would turn to the forums in the hope I could find a good motor. Hey Alan Just received the radio in the post and overall I am very impressed at what I have got in the box. After about 10 min I had a good understanding on how to use it. I found the manual was fine I had no problems understanding the different features. But.... there is a but when I plug in my existing headset into the unit not worked. The headpiece which came with the unit works fine but not my headset. Then I realised that the connectors are different. Now i just read the other posts about the other Chinese radio and how people are having the same issue with connection there existing headsets etc, I take it I also need to make up a lead or connector to enable my headset to work? Do you know anywhere I can buy a complete connector already made up. I am rubbish at soldering but if its what I got to do then I will. If someone was to make a bunch and sell them on flybay now there's a good idea!! Many thanks, D

Hi Guys I am looking to get a new wing but my understanding of wings is pretty poor. My current wing is a skywalker. I bought it secondhand when I bought my paramotor. I have about 150 hours of flying under my belt. Me and motor are about 96kg all up, my current wing is 29 m. Is there any new wings with ground breaking technology out in the next couple of months.
