Guest
Guys, I have a meeting tomorrow (short notice I know) with the MD from Airbox. So in a nice simple set of bullet points, What do YOU want from a nav aid? You could help to form the product!!! SW

Steve
Same as previous, easy to use - no complicated multi-function sub-menus from an interface programmed by someone who nevers uses it themselves. See Apple's interface guidelines for reference
speedmouse
Simon . Take a quick look at XC soar . I use it for Gliding and its great . Id suggest something similar But even more simple .
pete_b
Looking at some of the replies its obvious you have not used it, it could not be any simpler (or better than xc soar). Please have a look at it first, its good now so could be awesome with a few tweaks.

Guest
Meeting @ 15:00 Something I already know is that he has a large number of re-con units where people have upgraded over the years..... I am going to try and get my hands on those with the 50k map replaced with the 25k. SW
Guest
This item WILL have the free 1:500 charts replaced with the 1:250 that we are more likely to be using. It comes with that airspace FREE and will update for a year! It's an amazing bit of kit and a reasonable price ( when you consider the cost of digital mapping from Memory Map without the updates!! ) http://www.paramotorclub.org/auction/it ... =63&mode=1 SW
Richwill15
Hi Simon, assume this is for a new unit (with 250K maps). Any news on the recon units?
Guest
He was not that happy about letting the Recon ones go out... (the new product is so much better) I will keep chipping away at him though SW
gordon_dunn
Compatibility with GPS Trackmaker software would be great- www.gpstm.com For downloading tracks, and uploading routes

ptwizz
He was not that happy about letting the Recon ones go out... (the new product is so much better)I will keep chipping away at him though SW You might suggest recon units could be sold to new pilots through flying schools and training schemes. This is broadly similar to what the publishers of CAD software do, allowing 'student' licenses to circulate so plenty of people become familiar with their product and it becomes the natural choice when they upgrade. Guest
Screen is daylight readable and lasts around 90 mins at normal brightness. You can increase or reduce this further by making it brighter or darker. A power monkey or similar takes this up to 5 hours if needed.
