DRUMMER Posted July 31, 2011 Share Posted July 31, 2011 As a learning point for us newbies: Given that both pilots had engine failure could there be a common cause such as sharing bad/old fuel or wrong oil mix. alan_k Posted July 31, 2011 Author Share Posted July 31, 2011 Wrong oil mix is a definate No-No. You can have too much as well as too little In most cases stick to the manufacturers recommended dosage. There is one engine (don't know offhand which one) that has built a reputation for better reliability with say 40:1 instead of 33:1. I'm sure someone else will know which it is.
