Hi All does anyone have any experience with Gin combi or Supair reserve container/cockpit?
Which would you recommend?
Thank you,
Miro
I have the supair one, its good, you can fit quite a bit in the top and it zips up wich is ideal as everything is secure while you are taking off and landing

Alex from footflight Paramotors in Essex had one at the nec. I have not seen the footage but the quality of the build and case looks the same as go pro stuff.

It would be great if we could now start a list of 'Ground Crew' helpers to man the tasks at each of the waypoints.
Ideally we need 14 people to help. It would be great if those people were able to arrive at Membury on the day before the event as some planning and briefings will need to be given and some driving in the morning will be needed to get to your waypoint.
Camping can be arranged either at the Airfield or on my back field. Either way it will be a good evening! :-)
Thanks very much in advance for your help!!!

Careful, that's not the first time he has invitied a bunch of fellas in to his "back field"

Very nice......
I wonder what the little thing above the cockpit canopy that folds down after takeoff is?? (See position 1:07 on video)
periscope for the instructor sat in the back

cows and horses are the worst as they are nosey sods and will come over to take a look at whats going on, sheep are the best bet as they will normally go off to the other end of the field and stay there.

Simon I don't think it was a system error notice the time of the post

I'm guessing outkast was inhaling large quantities of red at this time thus the user error.
Also explaining the time travel......
cheers

I was on something, although more of a shrubbery in nature

that's proberly why its not working, I only made the video this year, it did not exist in 2007 lol
-
Cheeeeeers
Got it.
Also chatted to Instructor today whilst stood around moaning about
wind speed and you all agree.
Simples.
I did a hang check today and found that there was very little force required to twist
and move paramotor 90 degrees off square. I was expecting a greater resistance
to staying square.
Please comment on this.
Thanks for replies.

Richard
the further the plane of the prop is from vertical the more tourqe effect will make its presence felt, when you do a hang check you want your motor to be leaning back just enough so that when you apply full power its sits upright, have you checked your harness is adjusted equally both sides?

why aint this bloody thing working?

Hi
I don't understand why it may be dangerous to pull a tight left hand
turn under full climb at low speeds. ( against the torque).
Richard
Imagine the motor trying to turn to the right due to torque, your risers slightly twisted to the right then you pull a tight left turn, the wing turns left against the motor trying to turn right. Result = twisted risers, and the wing flying opposite to the thrust of motor. Action is to power off hands up and hope you have enough height to recover normal flight.
Hope this helps.
Whitters.
power off slowly, or you may spin right round in the opposite direction

115 miles crickey at my weight i'd need a tanker lol
I got a 46 synth you could use.
he struggled to launch a 31, hows he going to get a big heavy 46 in the air lol

thought you got a Nuc 34 now ?
shitloads of lift out of that and good economy.

Or The People's Front of Judea.
SPLITTERS!
-
Is that actually the norm ??
I know people who did not have to do any flying at all ?
SW
I guess its up to who the examiner is, if he has already seen you fly and knows you are competent then theres nothing to prove by flying again.
oh and you have to land within 20 metres of an object placed out in the field
-
you will have to do some flying if you use the alternate entry scheme, you have to show you can take off fly a couple of circuits of the field and land with good control, you will also have to do a cross country, the examiner will give you a map with about 3 waypoints on it, you will have to take off and hit all three then return to the field, your flight will be logged, usually by a gps attached to your frame, your log will be checked when you return.

what a load of bollox, how can you claim to be promoting a sport when you wont let the public see it.
-
no spectators...
whats that all about ?
-
K2 is old tech...
I think they have stopped making that wing now.. But i could be wrong.
There are much better faster wings out there...
as above, forget old stuff and obscure names, go for one of the big brand wings, loads of people are flying them, for good reason, and you will have a better understanding of what you are getting.

Yeah that's it. Frazer was there at the same time I was, is Frazer still around on here?
So it's not looking good so far for something more local...
sorry mate only just realised I had not replied, frazer got as far as his first flight, then unfortunately personal problems intervened and never went any further, Alex may be some distance from you, but hey anything worth doing aint going to be easy

reminds me of the time james may on top gear "accidently" flew into midlands airport in a caravan balloon thing, that was set up too, so could be something along those lines, filming for a program or some such.

I think the whole point in what he is saying is, if you really want to do something you can find a way to make it happen.
