  1. I do have some plans to come up and fly with Matt and Clive when the weather get better.. your more than welcome to have a go.

will see you soon then mate :D

dont think canewdon is a goer at the moment, too much water on the field, two tree looks ok

  2. Thanks Mark, i was thinking of changing to a gtx from my nuc but did mot want to go back to a small wing and ceap economy, my last wing was a 23 revo 2, proberly keep the nuc for a few months more.

Reason i was so interested in how it flew for you is that i will be looking to change my motor after this summer, and will almost certainly be going for the v5 :-)

  3. I have had a go on the GTX

The wing comes up super fast... Take off run was short even on my V5.

Very Very Agile almost as agile as the GTR

    Regards

    Mark

Mark was it the 22 you flew,?

if so did you find you had to put more power on than when on your speedster?

I am just thinking wether it would give good fuel economy.

  4. The Shats is an alternative competition organised and competed by a group of pilots without the red tape and regulation of the Nats.

This is a non-serious and light hearted comp with fun tasks on the field, where spectators can enjoy the action as well as the pilots.

    This summer.

That sounds like an amazing idea, please tell is more? :D

  5. Over the past 3 days , the sky has been filled with the Red Arrows , im assuming that at present they re based at Valley .

Had a 30 mile flight today , with eyes peeled for fast Red Hawks !

Flew fairly low , mainly over the beaches....

Could see the Hawks in the distance on return , so kept low , landed , and sat in the field and watched the display....Marvellous !

were their activities not posted in a notam?

  6. I have bought some heated gloves whilst over in the UK.

They have the name HEAT on the cuff and run from 3x AA batteries in a holder in each cuff.

They appear to be pretty good gloves not withstanding the heating elements, with Thinsulate 40 gram insulation. The heating elements are about 4W in each glove. Up to 2 1/2 hours with alkaline batteries.

I bought them on offer from Clas Ohlson at £19.99 but have found them on offer at Maplins in their sale (up to 22nd Jan) at £12.49.

They come in two sizes S/M or L/XL, I would think the larger would suit everyone.

Haven't tried them yet but will report when I have done so.

    Cheers, Alan

I bought a pair of those Al, I have not ried them flying yet but have tried them on a very cold day while out on my mountain bike, they worked great, even my fingers wich being first to catch the cold air on a bike really stayed nice and warm :D
