  1. You are right Rob, of course it is okay to endanger other peoples lives and risk endangering the future of the sport in somebody elses country.

As long as you get a good video in the process, of course!!!!

I hope that when he comes over here and flies under the bridges along the Thames with his 'free spirit' he gets a good video so that we all have something to watch after being grounded by the CAA.

Sorry mate but fanman is right. Sometimes the price to pay for a 'great video' is too high.

Really sorry to hear about the trouble that you are having getting started on your own and hope that your injury isn't as bad as you make it sound (please keep us informed).

I feel a bit frustrated (as I am sure you do) that we can't help from here in the UK.

If you are coming over to the UK at any time let us know.

    Regards

    Eddie

  3. Fanman

I am sure it has been mentioned before on the forum but not sure where!

Can you point me in the right direction, or advise, about the ALC system you are using on the Revolution.

I never got on with the tip steerers (always seemed to be in the way) and would be interested to find out more about any alternatives.

    Cheers

  4. Hi Pete

Sibson skydiving (near Peterborough) and Hinton Skydiving (just South of Silverstone) both charge about £230 for a tandem skydive and an additional £95 for a video.

Wish I was still doing it and could help but I am sure that we have skydivers amongst our members that may be able to help (including Colin :D )

Have attached a very old news item about Sibson. I am in the 4 way team (in Black and yellow with black rig) and my brother John (you met him at the fly in) is opposite in a black and fluorescent green jumpsuit. Remember this is VERY old!

    Cheers

  5. I need (after a mishap at the Silverstone fly-in) a 113cm/44" prop for my Corsair M35Y fitted on a PAP1250.

It seemed when I did it several people had spare props and before I part with lots of cash to Skydragons I thought there might be people with props for equipment that they may no longer have and want to sell.

    Cheers

  6. Great link Tom, look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

I notice on the weatherlink an advisory on the airspace over and around the 'now active' Silverstone heliport.

Can someone (Norman maybe) clarify the position with regards to this heliport as they are asking for 2000' AGL or radio contact and I do not fly with a radio.

    Have we spoken to them?

    Help please

    Eddie

What do you mean 'when the weathers good'?

We have been flying all this week out of Shabbington, tonight would have been perfect!

Not sure of my plans for this weekend as I have to spend some time with the 'Boss' after being out every evening.

Let me know if you want to fly down tomorrow os Sunday evening and I will sort it out.

Otherwise, I will see you both at the fly-in.

I am hoping to fly in from Shabbington and you are welcome to join me.

    See you soon

    regards

    Eddie

The email stuck in the system will be from me enquiring if you are selling your kit because you are giving up the sport or if you are changing to new kit?

I hope it is the latter and hope to see you down at Shabbington soon.

    Regards

    Eddie

  9. Ken

My plan is to fly back with others at the fly-in that want to do a XC and out landing as part of their weekend and pick up my car.

If not, I am sure we can find someone to drive us back to Shabbington.

    Eddie

Obviously the above applies to getting you back, either flying or by car.

    Regards

    Eddie

  10. An idea has been suggested that a XC flight between Shabbington ond the fly in could be arranged and I am working on it at the moment.

However, if the wind speed/direction is favourable would any Shabbington flyers like to leave very early on the Saturday and fly in?

The flight is 27 miles and shouldn't be too much of a problem (depending on weather).

Let me know if you are interested.

    Cheers

    Eddie

  11. To those amongst you thinking of being a 'ginea pig student' I can just say that having been there myself on the France trip it was worth all the effort and expense.

Although we didn't get as mich flying in as we would have liked the amount of information taught and shared was invaluable.

I came back with so much more confidence and knowledge that it is hard to imagine how people do this sport without the training.

If you are new to the sport this is too good an opportunity to miss, go for it

  12. Whilst I should be encouraging people to spend money that benefits the PMC I think that it is a bit expensive for a 'butty'

If, however, it was a baguette then the price is right (come on down :D )

Hope that a baguette is not too posh for some of the members!
