  1. Norman, I have a brand new seawind helmet with built in headphones & Mic etc for him, the size is XL61-62cm. The radio attachment lead will fit a Kenwood radio. It has been donated by a friend of mine who bought it and then took ill and had to give up his dreams of flying. I'm in the UK for a couple of days next week so if you want it for him can you PM me your address and I will send it to you. Alan
  2. I was, It was a Simon Westmore mask
  3. Mike, I get about the same from my tank so I'll keep you company. Also, having landed out in the back garden of a French couple earlier this year I found them and their neighbours to be very helpful and friendly, even though I nearly scared them half to death! Alan
  4. A Saudi friend has asked me to buy one of these. http://www.aef-gliders.com/download/LivretCameleon.pdf Has anyone used one of these and can give a review? They are expesnive at EUR 195 and I don't want him to waste his money. Many thanks
  5. I have also had decompressor problems with my Pap. Slightly different to yours in that the plastic button on the end comes off. I've had three new decompressors and they have all done the same. I've reported this problem to skydragons. I have considered that it might be my engine running hot but I have checked the oil ratio and plug to ensure it is not running lean everything looks OK, it seems to be operating in the normal temperature range. Any one else had this happen to them?
  6. Karan, I have an apology to make. When you first started to post on this site the sceptic in me thought you were trying a Scam for money. I hear sob stories virtually every day with requests for cash so much so I have become numb to it and I wouldn't have given your post a second thought. Norman however, being the true gent he is, took you at face value and is helping to make your dreams come true. I am so pleased I was wrong. You are a true hero! Good luck with your flying and your venture and I will do what I can to help. Alan
  7. I would love to come but need to know more details so I can plan leave etc. I'm a definate maybe if the dates are right. Alan
  8. Thanks, Pics & vids to follow soon. Alan
  9. Just thought I would drop a post to let you know of a paramotor flight being made by my team mates between Riyadh and Jeddah, some 900Km. This is some challenge given the time of year. I flew the first leg with them yesterday morning, some 150km. everyone made it apart from me because I couldn't get my engine started after a fuel stop. The annoying thing was that I probably could have made it with the fuel I had! The Fusion was great, open trim & full speed bar, my gps was indicating a ground speed of 88 km/h I am driving to Taif this weekend to catch them up and hopefully fly the last leg to Jeddah. The flight from Taif I am told will be spectacular as we will be taking off from a height of about 2000m and flying down to sea level. The guys are doing this flight to celebrate the recovery of Prince Sultan, the Saudi Minister of Defence and Aviation who has been ill for some time. Alan
  10. Just had my first flight with the Fusion. What can I say F***ing fantastic! take off nice, in flight it was stable and responsive & the landing was nice & slow. What more could you ask for in a wing. Alan
  11. Ouch. I paid about £2,600 in Saudi! I thought I was getting a good deal as they are advertised at over £3,000 in UK.
  12. I don’t know about lucky! Penniless is more like it!
  13. Just got my new Fusion 29. Had it out of the bag to ground handle and hope to fly it tomorrow. Alan
  14. Thanks Simon, I'll give him your number but I think it is probably a bit far for him.
  15. Well done mate. Best regards Alan
  16. I have a friend, Mohammed, a Saudi Paramotor pilot who is in the UK on a training course in the Telford area and is desperate to fly. Is there anyone who may be able to help him? He is a very good pilot but will obviously be lacking in air law for the UK. Alan
  17. Thanks guys. I really enjoyed myself in France and with Paul, it was well worth the time and money spent. I would also like to pay special thanks to Piers, Norman, Simon & Paul (In no special order) who have advanced my flying, ground and instructional skills enormously. Also, thanks goes to all the Instructor trainees, Rich, Pete & Paul and the Pilot trainees who made the whole experience fun. I came back from France with more than just flying and instructional skills, I also acquired Simons old Paramotor club van for use in the UK! So now fully equipped for flying when I'm back on holiday. I arrived back in Saudi yesterday and hope to start to instruct soon. . but is has got hot while I've been away and the temperature today is about 38Deg however the wind is about 20mph! Alan
  18. Ken, Great to hear you are OK and made it back safely. I don't think that last magic trick went as planned! Best Regards Alan
  19. All arrived safe and sound on Sun early evening and got the kit out of car to flying. It was the smoothest air I've ever flown in! Food and accommodation is excellent, couldn't have asked for better. Monday morning was a promising start with everyone attempting the clover leaver with varying degrees of success, followed by some spot landings. However the wind picked up and we were grounded until about 18:00 when we attempted a cross country. Fading light caused me to land out in the large garden of a French house but they were very friendly and invited me in for a beer, which of course I accepted. Everyone is enjoying the course and Piers is doing a great job with us (got to say that for smarty points!) It looks like tomorrow is going to have same winds as today so an early start to get some flying in before it kicks in.
  20. Gents, Can't wait to meet you all. I know I and all the other trainee instructors will do everything in our power to make your time in France as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. I for one am looking forward to the experience. See you all soon Alan
  21. If it wasn't for the blue skies I'd swear you were in Saudi! But as we have had nothing but dust and sh** in the air clogging up our lungs and engines for the last month it couldn't be. Well done mate it looks like it was an excellent trip and looking forward to the DVD. I'll bring some camel dung home just to remind you of the smell! Alan
  22. Edward de bono would be proud of you!
  23. Ahh, it makes sense now. Thanks.
  24. What is this about? is there something going on I don't know about.
