  1. I've heard of them, they are a very good manufacturer from what I've heard and seen reviews of... Good luck and let us know how you get on Mike
  2. I've been reading this, and this seems great fun and something i would want to try.... saying that, and like everyone else has said, you've got to take into account the incredibly dangerous things that could go wrong, the fact that you could not only kill the base jumper, but yourself... and possibly spectators and the fact that you could put yourself behind bars, with a very big fine, and even make them reconsider what Paramotor pilots are allowed to do, ruining it for everyone else! Please be safe... and yes... we would like some evidence, cause to me this is so cool and I want to try it.. but label it as you did it abroad with years of experience and remember everyone.... YOLO! Good luck and stay safe!! Mike
  3. Let me know if you do that... then film it for me to watch, thanks a million
  4. fair enough... will give him a call and see if what happens
  5. Would anyone suggest doing a tandem before actually learning to fly one? I've done plenty of flying in twin and single props, but nothing like this... does everyone do a tandem before learning?
  6. Wish i wasn't so far away, would of been great to come to this and meet people! Sorry Mike
  7. From what ive been told and read from the last few months, I've learnt that all PPG pilots hope you would stick to the 500ft rule for the sake of paramotors and the law, and other people around. I've noticed aswell that people do fly very low over beaches, but as long as you are 500ft away from anything in any direction, you are free to fly as low and as dangerous as you want... but at your own risk and not advised! Hope that answered that question Wind, I was also told that 10 mph would be considered max... maybe 15 if your experience and want to push it... and if your on an expedition like from lands end to john o'groats ( Simon!) then maybe up to 20mph :L Will stand corrected on any of these, as im learning from what they are telling me, and simply passing that information on Thanks Mike
  8. Truely incredible video, and a question below it, thought i'd create only one thread to keep my threads down Firstly here is the video! Incredible flying through the clouds with a great finale! And my question is about Tandem. I've obviously Haven't flown yet, which made me think about tandeming... Firstly does anyone do this? and how much would it cost for me to have a go? and when I do get my wing and motor, would it be a daft idea to get a motor and wing big enough to do tandem.... or should i gain experience first? Thank you Mike
  9. Can i also show you this channel, this guy has some very impressive HD videos, and i always find myself looking at one of his videos every evening after a get back from school.... it keeps me on the edge of my seat! aha
  10. I found the same thing, there seems to be more paragliding in the US rather than paramotoring, unless you class Dell Schanze as a good Paramotor pilot? Don't get me started :L I've got some free time at the moment, so i will get surfing the net for you, and will pm you with any instructors I find. Mike
  11. Hi Barrett and Welcome to the Forum! Great to see you want to join paramotoring and you will find plenty of information here! I'll take a look for you to find some instructors in your area as I think the majority of this site are based in the Uk. But will get back to you on this Feel free to either start posting as much questions on here, or even start a new thread, we are happy to help Thanks and enjoy! Mike
  12. ah fair enough.. and what price was it? and nah, im still new to all this... no wings for sale :L
  13. Will do gunna go this weekend to see people flying hopefully at Boston, if they go there and the weather holds out that is. Then maybe make a purchase of a GH wing and harness next week, but im going to try and find out as much as possible from tonight to next week. Thanks
  14. Thanks for that write up So did you simply go out and buy a wing and harness and attempted with any help, or did you do it with other people around you? And great picture!!
  15. Thanks, I'll stear clear of them, and oops, my spelling is atrocious! using a school computer keyboard is never a good idea.
  16. Wow, didn't realise that! thats great ! just trying to think if i'll ever get anywhere near Membury. Im heading towards Aberystwyth next week, but thats still miles away, if you could let me know what locations you could possibly do it at, that would be great Can't wait ! Thanks
  17. I will have a look for some local schools. The only guy within reasonable driving distance is Boston, but they seem to all be flying at Shipdham on the weekends which is almost 2 hours from my location. Also i plan to stay safe all the way through this, so getting training is my priority at the moment! Thanks
  18. I guess what you've said makes sense if you put it that way I have the £100 already, but what would you suggest me doing? I have watched the ground handling video that Dave sent me, and it said that i should always seek training before attempting to buy even a ground wing and fly it? Is it worth waiting a few weeks, and going to a airfield, or would i be fine if a bought some clips and bungee and " tied " myself down and tryed it out at my local village field? Its a huge field so no worry's of trees, or fences. What do you suggest?? Thanks alot Mike
  19. I guess that is'nt a bad option, although i can't see the point spending £100 on a wing and harness, which i will then bin as it will be worthless, when that £100 could get me a headset, or go towards a proper flying harness? Unless anyone has a GH and harness lieing around that they don't want and would except maybe £50 for? :L Thanks Mike
  20. Evening everyone, Looking at purchasing a wing and harness in the next few weeks to train ground handling, while i save another thousand for training etc. I was looking at the various different wings such as the Revo 2 and the Apco lift or force which are both designed for beginners. I think my ideal wing would be speed and stability as this will be my first wing. Anyone got any suggestions and reviews on these wings, and any advice? Also im not asking to buy one yet as im yet to get a little more money, but does anyone have any of these in there shed and a harness that they are thinking of selling over the next few weeks for a reasonable price? Thanks Mike
  21. Hi, I was also looking at the Apco, as i was interested in the Apco lift as it was EN-B and apparently one of the best in the range, but the Force is the upgraded and more competitive version of the Lift. This is why i chose the lift over the force, and will hopefully purchase one of these. Is there any specific reason you want a force over a lift? or can i suggest maybe getting the lift? Its apparently the same thing, apart from its a little larger for stability and control, but doesn't lack in the speed and handling that the force has and comes in the same designs.
  22. I've got the same problem at the moment mate, im hoping Simon will fix this later, as i need to see if there is a Apco Lift on there :L
  23. I've heard of hese miniplanes, bu no sure wha they are? arethy cheap, andy good?
