  1. Hi everyone, I was told this is one of the most safe and easy way to fly, but are there any statistics? How many people in the Uk fly Paramotors? and how many end up injured or killed compared to people who fly microlights and planes? Just wondering so i can pass this on to my parents, to reinsure, or completely put them off the idea Thanks Mike
  2. I saw someone had the idea of a live chat box, and you answered it with a no, but can i suggest maybe using an external company ( some which are free) to then have it up and running all the time, so we can chat live time, as sometimes i jsut want a quick chat with a few people about ideas that spring to mind, and having to wait a few hours for a reponse sometimes makes me impatient :L ehe
  3. oops, spent the evening looking at videos of paramotoring again, now im really buzzing to get started, oh dear
  4. yeah, i guess that is an issue in Lincolnshire, but im sure i'll get plenty of time, and if i can transport it, i can then take it on hols with me :L
  5. aha i guess so, although around my area, we don't get that bad weather, not sure why, but when everyone else is struggling in the wet weather, for some reason, we have had sun most of the time? confusing :L
  6. Thanks, I thought it might be those prices, just wanted to comfirm. I guess the only thing i could do is save my pennys The hours i meant by, on my Cv i can then put everything i have done, such as Air cadets for 2 years, air traffic control training and then i could add maybe 1000 hours of paramotoring? It will give me that edge over everyone else. but my main reason out of it all, is to beable to fly easily, without having to store an aircraft. Flying is everything to me, id happily not have a car and only have a paramotor, so i can come home from school, and simply go out for an evening flight, so thats why id love to get into this sport. Thanks Mike
  7. Hi everyone, Just before i ask this, this is no plea or sob story about money, i just simply would like some advice about the costs and funding. So here goes. Could anyone give me the costs for training and a decent set up for someone like me, im currently 15 and i am 5'7" and weigh around 55KG so any prices on equiptment for these second hand? I've been told around £3000 to £3500, but anyone got it cheaper? Also training, what training is there, for cheap? As im a teenager at home, i don't have that much money, without eating into the savings, which i guess if it will help me get my dream job as a pilot ( i'll be getting flying hours), i might beable to do that, but that will be down to my parents. But im wondering if anyone can tell me prices, and how people afford it? Thank you Mike
  8. Thanks for the link, just sent them a message Mike
  9. Thank you for the welcomes and will do, im sure i'll think of plenty :L Thanks Mike
  10. Hi, New here and thought id say hi, with a few questions, i think i'll start by telling you a little bit about myself, why im interested and then move on to a few questions. Firstly a little about me. Im currently 15 and turning 16 early November this year, ive been an air cadet for 2 years and have enjoyed flying for years, i wish to fly either commercial or in the Raf when i am 18 and think getting flying hours in and of course the enjoyment. Im located in south Lincolnshire near Fenland airfield and spend a bit of my time at the airfield. I stumbled across Paramotoring when looking for a way to fly at 16 and for cheaper than doing my NPPL or PPL. I first found the ParamotorsUk and contacted a nice guy from there, who gave me some pointers into how to get started and pricing etc. But i have joined on here aswell, to hopefully meet some people, see if there are any groups near me and to learn more! So thats a little about me, now on to some questions which i'll list to make it easier for everyone 1.) After speaking to an instrustor from ParamotorsUk he told me that there were no licences or medical training needed, but he advised training that could cost £1100 for the year? Can anyone extend on this information, i gather the outline that its not essential, but if helpful, but any more information? 2.) The guy also told me that i would be looking to need £3000 to get all the proper equiptment second hand and £6,000 for new, are these realistic figures? ( If you realise you are the person who spoke to me on the phone, im only asking for more information to have a broader understanding, hope you don't get offended) 3.) When can i get started!? Thanks alot Michael T
