  1. Going to see Mike Chilvers this evening hopfully, but its been foggy all day and he said if it doesnt clear, to go tomorrow, so will have to wait and find out.
  2. Thats exactly my plan mate meeting with an instructor tonight about training and to ask him some questions, and im going to try and pick up a wing and harness early days of November.
  3. Thanks, I will wait till i finish training and see what happens then Long way away, and i guess anything could happen between today and there, thanks alot
  4. Thanks, I thought that would be the general idea, makes sense to me, my fam and friends will have to wait while i have all the fun :L Thanks
  5. Just wanting to bring this back up again about tandeming. I hav'nt rang anyone yet, as im just curious for when I've done my training and getting one myself. I have a few friends and a brother and dad that are very interested in flying, and would like to see what its like, and wondered if they could tandem with me. Pete, you mentioned I'd need two wings? Would it be a daft idea buying a large motor, and a small wing for solo, then getting a tandem wing, but using the same motor? With no flying hours of a Paramotor? If i can, then i think my brother and possibly my dad would go half and half and get a wing for tandem use. Anyone help me on this? Thanks Mike PS: thanks for the numbers, but trying to keep it open, as I dont want to annoy anyone with a daft question like this
  6. I might take you up on that offer if you still have that rate in 1 year? aha
  7. Thats great looks like brilliant scenery, and of course, with a PPG, you can take it in the boot on your holidays, can't wait to get mine!!
  8. Thank you, will take a look at them
  9. First time I've heard of the BHPA/CANP? im still learning, sorry if thats a tad daft, could you expand on that please? Do i need one?
  10. There some incredible pictures! really nice, thanks for sharing them, where are you from, as it doesn't look like the UK?
  11. I believe the airspace is actually controlled but there might be a slight bit where it won't be. I will have to double check this with some guys at the Airfield. I know the majority of regular flyers from Fenland as I go there ever so often and sit in the ATC tower listening to what people are doing etc. I will ask them there for any information, and maybe get a notice up for near by paramotor's flying. Just a thought I had was last night, is that I believe they might have a hand held radio in the tower, which I was thinking if I speak to the guy that goes up there nicely, he might allow me to contact him to get a traffic report and see if the skies are busy or not, and occasionally during the flight, but I will have to ask him :L I was looking for those detailed maps, but I can't seem to find any. Dave sent me one that is 1:250,000 that covers south England, with Fenland being at the very top. But im not fully sure what im looking for. Am I looking for the 1:250,000? Can anyone hit me up with a link to somewhere that sells them please? Thats an interesting thought about the RAF, didn't think of low flying aircraft that are military. We have the Holbeach bombing range approximately 4 miles east of my location that I plan to take off from, and it seems to be a theme that the Hercules, or the Apaches will do a low fly by over our house on a Wednesday night. I'll try and find out more about the restricted areas to find out where they fly, to try and stay out of there way. Thanks alot Mike
  12. That makes sense Just thought it was worth mentioning it. I guess if i stay out of cloud and poor visibility i should be ok Thanks
  13. Evening everyone, Just thinking about safety in my area particularly, and wondered if anyone has a Traffic avoidance system that they use? Im located about 2 miles from Fenland airfield which can get very busy during Saturdays and fly directly where I would take off from. What would people recommended me doing, or do I not have to worry about other traffic? Thanks Mike
  14. Do you by any chance have a link to that harness? Thanks
  15. Thanks, Can't say i plan to join the army, but currently im looking to join the RAF as a pilot, and being an air cadet for a couple of years, i heard that they do these expeditions If not i will then hopefully become an airline pilot, and earn the money to take me flying Would be great to go on one of these with lots of people from this forum! Maybe something Simon could maybe mention to everyone? about a skiing/paramotoring trip in the Alps? But i guess that could be expensive! and there's a trip on the horizon anyway that members are organising, but not sure how much i can mention??
  16. Yet another incredible video Do you mind me asking how you get involved with these? Would love to do those type of things! anything extreme is my cup of tea :L Mike

  21. I can sense a comedian/Poet appearing, thats brilliant :') im gunna think of one to add, and we could try and create a daft poem for a laugh :L
  22. Thats great Alan! Really sums up flying and how amazing it is Thanks
  23. Just thought I'd share this picture with you that i took this evening, Just caught my eye, as i stood outside looking at this incredible sunset, with the wind slowly blowing, and the hum of a small Cessna 172 in the background, wishing i was up there flying! the saying 'For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to Return' is so true, as i do find myself walking with my eyes turned skywards, or gazing out of the window at the passing clouds. I kinda posted this, and wondered if anyone else has any pictures, or incredible flight story's they wouldn't mind sharing? Always like a good story and to hear things you've done, and im sure other newbies would find them interesting aswell Thanks alot Mike
  24. Hi, Spotted this aswell, but it looks like we are in the same situation. I was told to wait and buy a GH wing and harness, and practise first. These bargains crop up ever so often, and there sure will be another when you go to buy. Don't try and jump into anything as i was told, and get training Thats what im doing anyway :L Cheers Mike
