  1. Not one hundred percent to do now?
  2. That word.. wait it a little longer devastates me haha but maybe you are right, he has Gin wings as well, its all his ex paragliding wings.. is it defiantly not a good wing then, or touch and go?
  3. I understand where you are all coming from, just so none of you missed it, posted the instructor on the previous page before this one, as i know how easy it is to miss posts yardyar But i guess not, if i am completely honest, i am just struggling to pull together £2500 at home with my parents and grandparents putting in everything they can, i can't afford to spend £1100 on training and still get a wing and motor etc. For me this is perfect, as long as it doesn't kill me! 17 year old sixth form student is never a wealthy time of life
  4. Paul Brian near Kings Lynn ( nickname, Pinky ) he's an ex paraglider comp and then paramotor instructor, has given it a break recently.. i found him online somewhere, just looking now! I know him well anyway and he is a good friend, we work together at the local airfield and he's forever trying to get wings out at the airfield, if it wasn't for our poor weather recently!
  5. any further thoughts on a cheap bell helmet and sound cancelling in earpieces, or is it best to spend the extra for the decent stuff? thanks, Mike
  6. I have his number so i'll will contact him about these things, i am sure he has, but if not i guess i'll have to get that sorted as well! more money and no worries Mike! I will take a look at there website out of interest and let you know if i spot something
  7. Just another idea... Does the helmet have to be these big expensive helmets with headsets for £250, or can i get away with a well made helmet for a slither of that and just use sound cancelling inear earpieces to listen to my receiver for local traffic and training etc.? any rules on this or is it just to be safe?
  8. I Haven't yet no... this is one reason why i am asking on here, i dont know that wing at all so i wouldn't know.. he thought it would be okay as it isn't reflex and should be stable, but im no expert i shall ask him too
  9. thanks! I have a flying suit kindly given to me by Dave from here two years ago, and i was thinking of using my old army sport boots with it? i just need to find a helmet... nothing fancy, just to get me going! any makes? and is it not a good idea to always have a reserve? or not? :L
  10. Hi Everyone, After many years, i am almost ready to go! I am about to purchase a Dk Whisper GT and a Airwave Sport from an ex paramotor instructor at my local airfield who has said he will train me on it at the field and the motor and wing included for £2500 which to me is a bargain! But now i need to finish up getting equipment such as a helmet/headset, alti/velo and a reserve, but i am unsure where to start! I don't have much left in the pockets and i want to spend most on a reserve, but i am unsure where to start and look! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Mike
  11. New site? I am so not up to date, I need to be on here more often! What's going on with this at the moment Simon please? Is it up!
  12. Thanks everyone! Plenty of different views! I have just been I contact with Mike Chilvers and will contact others soon! Fingers crossed
  13. Thanks everyone! So the general idea is to get the training and cheaper equiptment.. But still safe! I have been speaking to Mike Chilvers recently as he lives and trains near me, so hopefully I will get going! I will try and get some pics of the paramotor which is selling for £2500 and show you!
  14. Thanks everyone, I guess it depends on price then and where I source my equiptment... I just had a friend offer me an old bulldog motor, a wing and training for £2500 as he is an ex instructor and selling up... Not bad! Although Simon, I agree! I would rather get better equiptmwnt and wait I think! Thanks
  15. That's something new to me then! How come? But no worries! Any ideas on the next fly in then?
  16. Hi, possible good news... I have managed to persuade my dad to try paramotoring!! But, I have to sort out a tandem flight so he can see what it is like.. And he said if i can sort it out, i can do it too! i think that's a fair deal! Anyway, can anyone please tell me where i can get one of these near Spalding in Lincolnshire and how much would it be? Thanks Mike
  17. * BUMP * Any further info? Did this ever happen? I am still happy to help out!
  18. it is a good airfield indeed!! Hmm, anyone able to help me with my questions please?
  19. Thanks mate! Its great fun being one, recommended to any youngsters! infact today I got the opportunity to go flying with a friend in an ev97! Flew to Sandy near Bedford.. anyone know that microlight airfield? Approach has lakes and trees right next to the threshold? Anyway.. Good fun and did loads of cloud dancing! Just wanna get flying in my paramotor now! Haha
  20. Hi mate, Fenland airfield which is very close!! I work on Saturdays in the tower as an atc assistance and in the flying school office as a secretary on Sunday, do you fly over Moulton as I see a paramotor buzz over ever so often! Also if I remember right, Mike flys at Boston?
  21. I had a sneaky suspicion that when Dave sent me that DVD, he pm'd me saying you were in it! Didn't want to say anything just incase I was wrong, but good and inspiring DVD indeed!! And that's promising then, I will just remember not to fly in bad weather!!
  22. If I remember correctly, were they not pilots from this forum? but thank you!! It's good to be back!
  23. Hi Everyone, Been ages since I have been on here! Finally back with a few questions again, just some quick info about me as it has been ages! I'm 16 and have always enjoyed aviation and loved the idea of paramotoring! I spend all my spare time as a hangar rat and looking for a taste in paramotoring again! i am from Lincolnshire, near Spalding! Just a few quick questions, I have a budget of £2500 and was wondering how far this would get me? If I got second hand would this get me the essentials, and the rest I'll pop on my Xmas list! After watching the " fly another day" ( great movie! ) several times, I noticed collapses can be common, are they? It wouldn't put me off, but it would be something to consider! I weigh 65kg and I am 5'8".. What would a good wing or motor be for my body? Is a top 80 sufficient? I'm not looking for anything fast, just something safe and fun!! Thanks alot! Mike
