hotwinfiles3326
So the lack of wind defeated me today. Multiple attempts, wing just hung back.. So any one got any top tips for a speedster nil wing take off.. Single A/splt A etc Thanks Nick
rsquared
Nick.....you cannot be serious! I have seen a guy take off downwind with a speedster. Did you have a hangover? Cheers.
notch
More pressure for longer on the A risers? Let off a bit of trim?

markpulling
I always use about 1/3 power for a forward launch in nil wind ...it works 95% of the time for me now, I always struggled with wing hanging back too ,like previously mentioned more pressure for longer on the As

Guest
I always teach to apply a decent chunk of power and hold it there before you launch assuming 0 or low wind. Don't be tempted to pull on the a's any harder than normal though as you risk collapsing the wing. No need to come off the power at all as per (powered launch) as this will not help you to move forward. LET THE POWER DO THE WORK!!!! Let it push you forward so that you are using little to no physical effort 'pull the wing up' which is a bad phrase... The motor pushing you forward will 'pull the wing up' so you can focus on how much pressure you are applying to the A lines and where you are in relation to the wing before full power. nigel_d.
..But above all... if its anything like a Nucleon, don't try to launch nil wind on slowest trim - it does exactly the same thing. Set it to neutral or maybe a tad higher, it makes the wing seem more "interested" to fly.. Nige
morgy
Nick Nick Nick .... The Speedster has too be the easiest wing to launch in nil wind.... Trims on the white line...
morgy
I take that back... My 19m Slalom is far easier to launch in nil wind..
