craigs
Dear All, I've bought Noel Whittals' From The Ground Up & Jeff Goin's Powered Paragliding Bible, both of which are great books that give a great overall view of PPG, I will continue to read and re-read these until some proper physical training is arranged. I'm wanting to start studying the meteorology side of things in a little greater detail so basically the question I'm asking is: Which book/s should I buy that you guys have found useful to help me along in my ongoing quest for the journey skyward. Any website recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Craig.
Steve
I found this very useful: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pilots-Weather-Commonsense-Approach-Meteorology/dp/1840370270/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1348577398&sr=1-1 Simon Keelings' weatherweb explains everything in very clear and simple terms and is well worth signing up for his daily forecasts. clivefreeman
BHPA Pilot handbook. Lots of Meteorology in there also how the wing flies airmanship , all that you would need to pass your BHPA exam to get your insurance. Great book ! craigs
Just wanted to bring this back to the top of the pile as I've seen a few newbies asking for advice recently. I'm just about to start my training after 12 months of research & talking to people but the books listed below have been invaluable: Powered Paragliding Bible - Jeff Goin. Pilots Weather - Brian Cosgrove. BHPA Handbook - Mark Dale. Even if you never take to the skies they're still a good read!

This will give you nearly ALL you need to know in one book. If its good enough to get you through the NPPL(M) then its good enough for us
ScoobySnacks
Simon, I'm looking at buying a couple of books from Amazon. Are you a member of their associate scheme? That way I could buy the books and give something back to the site.
