adamjedgar
Hi guys, i am just wondering if someone can provide me with a link to the opps manual that is used in the UK. Do you guys have a ppg only course or is it an addon to a pg license? What are the requirements for ppg and pg over there? what levels of ppg license are there in the UK and what are the requirements for each? kind regards Adam
admin (Simon W)
There are currently NO legal requirements to have training in the UK. Options that exist here for a path to learn are varied. AndyB
I did APPI. Very comprehensive training. There is a log book that follows that link closely so each item is signed off by your instructor when completed.
admin (Simon W)
If you actually mean Ops manual, rather than sylibuss... I think my post remains accurate. I was honestly unaware of anyone in the UK teaching the APPI courses. I thought they were all overseas. SW

adamjedgar
So is this also the ssme for freeflying paragliders too. (Ie no legal requirement for training) How do you guys get on when you visit countries like Australia where one must be licenced to fly paragliders and parsmotors? admin (Simon W)
I think most countries (including the UK and Aus) have 'visiting pilots' conditions. (Normally 30 days) Most countries ask for the origin country equivalent. The PMC with insurance was acceptable in Aus in 2008 (for 30 days) but I don't know if that situation has changed.
