Can I paramotor to college?

clearly I have never paramotered before, but I am deeply interested in the sport, I'm also interested in getting to college in the least stressful way possible.

why dont I buy a car?! well according to google, paramotor cost you less in repairs if used correctly, so id rather spend a lot once than constantly fixing a lemon -_-

in essence, all im wondering is, can. I fly to college in anyway possible

many thanks,

Well...yes, in principle, if you have somewhere suitable to take off,and land, the weather is flyable (and is likely to be flyable on the way home),and you dont have to fly in restricted airspace, etc, etc. So you could, but dont expect it to be a reliable form of transport day in day out. If I was to take a punt at guessing, Id say 1 or 2 days in 5 over the Summer and not for whole weeks at a time in the Winter.

Weather changes quickly.  Flyable one hour, deadly the next.  You also have to consider how you're going to carry books and whatever else.  A car or bike would make a lot more sense. These aren't meant to be a form of regular transportation.  And I don't think a college campus is going to appreciate you landing on campus.  Also, while you're in class...how are you going to secure it so it doesn't get stolen??

The concept is purely hypothetical, i can barely afford an inner tube for my bike, like ill be able to buy a motor and wing etc.

however, seeing as discussion has sparked on landing and securing, i think i would ask college if i could commandeer the roof and turn it into a small paramotor friendly airstrip, then i can commute with my class in formation ;)
