  1. Hi all. i'm looking for some advice about charging the battery on my paramotor. It's a bit low and does need a charge. At the moment I don't own a car charger at all so with a view to buying one that might do the car too, what do I need? How much charge can I put thru a small battery? Most of the car models start at 4amp. Is this too much power? I wouldn't want to blow the thing up. I would make one-hell-of-a-mess of my new kitchen Thanks Jeff
  2. Point 1 I agree Point 2 yes to power and lightness, the electric has the same amount of prop noise, Why is this one going in the wrong direction compared to others today it may not be that much lighter but there will be virtually no vibration. 3 So buy a light less powered unit 4/ so what is the difference in noise between an electric paramotor shut off and a petrol engine shut off as the prop noise is the same on both when they are running Pete b 2. wrong direction as in the time, effort and cost to make such a machine. For me at least it's a bit like reinventing the wheel. Apart form the mechanical concept which is cool. It also looks quite heavy and with a full tank of gas even more so. That said I have no idea of it’s stats 3. I have a lightweight machine and it’s about as light as it gets with current technology and the power is good enough for me. 4. Tru you aren’t going to get away from the prop noise...but...you are going to get away from the noisy petrol motors and even on tick over they rock n roll. Also when running a petrol you have BOTH the motor AND prop noise.
  3. I think the firm that is first to the market an electric paramotor that works will clean up. Ask any pilot what he’d like in a paramotor and he’ll say he wants power and lightness, low noise and decent runtime. So I think this paramotor is going totally in the wrong direction for all the reasons I’ve mentioned. For my own part I don’t want a heavy noisy vibrating brick on my back. Shutting off a paramotor in the air is a joy. Just to hear the wind and a bit of whistle from the lines. An electric motor would fill those needs. If you were to let the throttle go it would go silent. No vibes no tick over. Pure joy! Jeff
  4. Thats a wankle right? Is it made of gold or have an "M" badge so it goes faster? Give it a few miles and it'll look like all the rest. Just another little motor. No big deal. It looks pretty enough but 6grand for a paramotor? Ugh!
  5. Hi. I just wondered as the weather is looking ok for the weekend if anyone in the Kent or surrounding areas might be going for a fly? If so can I tag along I could sure use the practice! cheerz Jeff
  6. Hi Carl. Nice to here of another pilot in these parts. I pm'd you with my phone number, perhaps we could all go for a fly sometime. All the best. Jeff
  7. I have a yellow synth but it wasn't me. there was a whole crew of Kent Lemmings once upon a time. (the original Lemmings) dunno what happened to them tho. It would be nice to know who you met up with. I do wonder how many are actively flying in Kent? i don't think it's that many. Jeff
  8. I had no problem at all reading that at all. I read it just like any other piece of text. Jeff
  9. Actually she has had a chance to do a tandem flight but prefered to watch her brother go. He was 11 at the time and loved it. Jeff
  10. Hilarious. They sure don’t make ‘em like they useta. That would never have happened on my old Volvo 240 Jeff
  11. Hi Folks. I thought I'd throw this out to the forum and see if I might get some ideas for a present for my daughter who turns 18 on the 6h!! HELP! I've spent days marching around the shops but just end up wandering home empty handed. We need to pull together here in pilot comradeship and help me out. All suggestions will be gratefully appreciated. Oh, buy the way. Amy's already been promised her drivers licence. She just hasn't had the time to begin. Otherwise that would be a good gift. Cheers !! Jeff
  12. I'm left handed so the opposite is true for me. I have the gas in my right hand... but I started paramotoring with it in my left hand due to the machine being a school paramotor anf flew like that for a while. So i'd say it's best having the throttle in your non dominant hand leaving better dexterity for camera\fliming Jeff
  13. Hi. I am a pilot living in Rainhan, Kent and I would like to meed others in my area to share our sport with. Please pm me, many thanks Jeff
