  2. Just been over to Paul Baileys this afternoon, to have the NEW EC-Extreme 45 (Bailey V5) 1st 10 Hour Service. The New Tank is a 11 and a 1/2 litre tank and is a custom designed Tank by Paul, specifically designed for the V5. A very nice job he has made of it as well. Paul has incorporated an even gap between the exhaust and the tank, (very similar to the EC-Extreme tank design). This allows a nice even and open air flow for the air to get between the tank and the exhaust to keep both the tank and the exhaust cool. I cannot see any reason why there should be any problems with the tank getting hot from the exhaust, or the exhaust over heating through lack of air flow, what so ever. The design of the tank, is very clever because the New V5 tank design allows for a nice non obstructed airflow over the bottom of the paramotor chassis as the tank finishes about 9 inches higher than the bottom of the chassis making a large gap at thebottom of the chassis making it more aerodynamic through the air. A great modification with lots of benefits especially when using speed bar. Regarding the switch, position, yes the switch is now mounted vertically and not through the hole which is a lot safer from being caught by the harness or any lines whilst launching but it is still nicely located for ease of use. Hope this clarifies a few of the points raised, Nigel UKPPG Bailey Paramotors Main Dealer (E.Anglia)
  3. Hi Finding0, Why dont you come and try one yourself and many other beginner wings at the same time, as this is the service that we offer at UKPPG, Try them all for yourself and make your own decision. Dell is a salesman yes, but the K2 is an all round good safe beginner / imtermediate glider and also a good cross country glider, like Dave quoted, even though it may be a little bit slower than some of the new Reflex gliders, but it is a very safe and forgiving glider. All I will say is try things yourself and Make your own decisions. The problem with forums is if someoone doesnt like dell, they will slag of the K2, but the K2 is made by SKY Paragliders and Not dell. The other thing with forums is that people will normally recommend a wing they they personally fly, it doesnt mean that there wing is any better or worse its There personal opinion and if they have never tried other manufacturers wings then what are they comparing it to. Give us a call if you would like to test fly / try various wings to make your own mind up. Nigel UKPPG
  4. Clive, For your reassurance, we have never replaced or ordered a piston set or any other main engine components for a Moster, not even an enquiry for them. Our recommendation is to, Just use good quality oil, we recommend Putoline MX7 (nice dark Blue colour for quick fuel level checking) which is a high quality fully synthetic oil and do not use a leaner fuel mix than Vittorazi recommend, no matter what oil you are using. One of my demo models has over 150 hours on it now and as a test model from Vitorazzi, I have only ever changed the top pulley bearing and a belt to the new Gates belt as the bearing went through the Contitech belt that was fitted and this was reported back to Vittorazi as part of our testing of the engine, we haven't even changed the plug on her yet and she still runs like a dream. Do not mess with the Carb settings either and you should have many hours of untroubled use on this motor. Remember that this service bulletin is a worldwide bulletin and the cooling side of thing are more directed at very hot, dry countries where temperatures are much higher than ours in the UK. Another good tip is that you should only use the recommended vittorazi propellors for the moster, either the wooden or carbon helix ones. If you go and put cheap wooden or copy fibreglass or even carbon props on the engine then you can seriously effect the rpm and temperatures and of course then problems can arise, which would obviously put your engine out of warranty. People always think that why should I pay more for a genuine manufacturers propellor when I can get a cheaper one, the truth is that engine manufacturers spend a lot of time and development in testing different props to work perfectly with indivual engines, producing the best performance but more importantly keeping the engine within its safe rpm range, whilst maximising thrust and economy and adding longitivity to the engine life. Hope this helps Nigel UKPPG
  5. The Prop upgrade is not included in this price obviously and the tests that we have carried out so far, show no noticible difference in thrust, power output or economy. You do need to buy the prop adapter plate if you want to upgrade to the new, head cooling prop desing and it set the prop back from the pulley as the leading edge of the prop tappers in slightly as well as the kick off on the rear edge of the prop and it will hit / damage your top pulley if it is not fitted. Personally if you are a heavy pilot then this is a good option as you will tend to rev your Moster at higher RPM than a lighter pilot. We have been upgrading all of our personal customers Moster engines in EC-Extremes and our other Paramotor brands that we have supplied with the Moster Engine, as the mods have been introduced by Vittorazi over the last 12 months. Your paramotor manufacturer should have kept you informed about these mods as they have been introduced. Especially the belt issue and the pull start system. As Vittorazi's main UK importer and service centre we keep all of these parts in UK stock, for both our personal customers and other UK Moster owners, service requirements, and they are normally available on a next day delivery... Vittorazi have offered all of these replacement parts at there cost not rrp to try and help there customers out financially, but they are for the long term good of the engine and your safety, which they are open and honest about. If you need any help or advice or just a chat re your engine, then please just give us a call on 01354 658778 or email at info@ukppg.com Thanks Nigel UKPPG

  9. Matt took off and then completed a complete 4 leg circuit (as per his training) and then made a power on landing for 85% of the landings, came to a complete stop, turned and faced the wing and then either put the wing on the floor or maintained the wing in flight (The K2 stays up in very light winds) then turned to face the forward position and relaunched. He had 2 breaks for fluids and a Chocolate bar but that was it. He done exceptionally well and for a large guy his stamina was outstanding and with exceptional results however the next day he was absolutely knackered but did manage to go flying again for a cross country for a rest. We are really proud of him. Thanks for all your helpful replies guys, much appreciated, Nigel (CFI) UKPPG
  10. UKPPG Student, Matt Vicary today has today (13-01-2012) set what we believe to be a UK / Worldwide record in PPG flying. Matt has flown 102 consequetive take-offs and landings (not touch and goes) in one day (5h 45m). We know Dell Shanze has had a student do 60 touch and go flights in one day but Matts flights were actual start and stop flights not touch and goes with a circuit in every flight (Average of 3.38minutes per flight). Does anyone know if this is officially a record.
  11. Barry I think with Neilzy being an engineer like yourself, he means that the welding is slightly larger than the perfection that Baileys produce, and lets be fair the Bailey welding is world class but I wouldn't say that there is anything less than good quality welding on the EC-Extreme apart from the larger weld now and again.
  12. Ec-Extremes New Competition model "The Samurai" will be launched in January and will have a choice of 3 engines, The Vittorazzi Moster, The Vittorazzi FLY EVO 100 and the Bailey V5. The Samurai will also include the new EC-Extreme, Active Arm Weight Shift system which works throught EC-Extremes easy entry / exit Mid-High Harness system, offering security, comfort and good movement for weight shifting in a similar way to the British Bulldog system. We have our Demo model on order right now and this is due to hit the UK mid to end February 2012 if anyone would like to come and have a look or a demo it. Prices and delivery are to be confirmed in the new year. The Samurai will come complete with its own hard case, prop covers and cage bag (for easy and compact portability) a EC-Extreme T-Shirt and Hat. In the mean time you can have a look at the prototype model video but believe me when i say that this is far from the finished product:

  14. Alan, I also thought that you was PPGing that day so opologises for my error as I didn't see the youtube videos on here at the time. UKPPG do not need to use salesmanship or marketing tricks with any of our range of products as we are the main importers or main dealers for most of the top brands of PPG companies so we do not push any one brand or model, it is solely down to our customers personal choice. Other companies tend to be biased to one product or brand even though it may not be completely suitable for that particular individual / student. You know how big we are as a PPG business in the UK and we offer all of our range of products to be readily available and personally tested on either the ground or in the air to obtain a thorough, unbiased, individual evaluation. Then and only then do our customers make there final decisions based on our recommended engine / wing sizes and models etc, to best suit their own flying abilities / experience and future flying requirements. We also only quote factual information that we have been supplied / confirmed direct from our manufacturers, (excluding one) and / or from our own personal experiences. Totaly agree with you that the Flattop is not indistructable, nothing is, but believe me when I say it is probably in the running for being one of the strongest on the current market. But then again Seeing is believing i suppose. Anyway sorry to waffle, our K2 new stock has arrived when you are available to come down, so we are ready when you are and we really look forward to hearing your own version of your findings after your testing. Best Regards Nigel PS: Don't forget your crash helmet. LOL !!! PPS: Only joking it is a company policy on our UKPPG site at all times. Keep our great sport deregulated....Think Safety First posting.php?mode=quote&f=3&p=40428#
  15. Hey Alan, I did not quote nor suggest that the K2 is somehow indestructible and would not have tucked or collapsed in the same air. We all know that ALL paragliders can collapse, and yes an overloaded glider may resist it slightly more, with the end result likely to be more violent and dramatic. But why fly an overloaded Glider? See you soon Nigel UKPPG
  16. Hi Alan, The New Demo Stock should arrive this week as they are currently in transit to us and as for the collapses this weekend we was flying K2's all weekend and did not get one single collapse Nor tuck, and I believe you would have had exactly the same weather conditions as we experienced. I will let you know as soon as the wings are in, Nigel UKPPG 07544 59840
  17. Nicely put Alan and I cant wait, it will be a great experience for both of us and No Youtubing as requested. Speak to you soon, Nigel UKPPG
  18. I meant to say that the PPG weights are not yet listed on the SKY website but to calculate this you can add upto 33% of the PG Total certified take-off weight (kg) which can be found on the SKY website http://en.sky-cz.com/products/gliders/cima-k2/ to calculate the PPG weight which is quoted by SKY paragliders themselves, being the Manufacturers. This information can also be found factually quoted on their facebook page which is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_127108847342142&id=161267110592982#!/pages/Sky-Paragliders/170454950333 I hope this clears up any quiries that may also be floating around at the moment. If any comp pilots out there would like to fly the K2 in competition this year then please get in touch with us as we / UKPPG would be very happy to talk about sponsoring you for 2011 / 2012. Nigel UKPPG
  19. Alan. Why dont you come over to UKPPG in Cambridgeshire and actually try out a SKY Cima K2, and then you can factually quote on it performance, speed, efficiency, safety and most of all suitablility for all levels of pilots including Beginners. As the UK and Ireland PPG Dealer for SKY PPG wings I have read all of the unexperienced comments of the K2 and I now ask you and anyone else that would like to rise to the challenge, to actually come and try out this superb SKY product for yourself. For the Record, (and taking your best friend Mr Super Dell out of the equation) the K2 is a very popular wing for PPG use and yes it is slightly modified at the factory with PPG risers, trimmers and stronger lines to the Standard mountain glider PG version of the same model. I use and sell the K2 with the utmost of confidence in the product and can honestly say that it is one of the most secure and stable wings that I have ever flown and by far the easiest and most forgiving to take off and land with... Everyone that has Test flown the K2 or actually own one all say the same and I know some very experienced UK pilots in amongst that list. Please feel free to give us a call on 07544 659840 to arrange a free day with us and while you are here you could always try out the NEW Lightweight 2011 Flattop NINJA or EC Extreme Moster (23.00Kg) and compare them at the same time. Cheers Nigel
  20. Why don't you come over and try one before you make your final decision. I also know somebody that has a second hand Flattop 200 that may just suit your budget better than buying new.
