  1. Nope I must be doing something wrong. Sorry Simon....
  2. Not sure why that glitched but I will try again. [youtubevideo]nAVFEQxuERQ[/youtubevideo]
  3. To all who helped pick me up off the floor after the engine out at St Andres Des Alpes I can now prove that the motor is back and working great. Check this out. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Slightly long I know but I was having way too much fun to stop. The ropey forward launch near the end was taken by my next door neighbour and it was great to be able to use one of his fields to take off from. One day I will catch a video of a great and graceful landing but until then these will have to do....... It's good to be back in the air again.
  4. May nip down on Sunday morning. Might see you there then??
  5. Nice one Pete! Good to hear that you're back in the air again... The sun always shines on the righteous.
  6. I think we must be suffering from communal memory dysfunction as I seem to remember a similar event happening to me.....weird in't?
  7. Great vid Gary, Will be flying through North Wales on Circumnavigation flight so would appreciate pointers for good landing/takeoff spots. Perhaps we should get together Cheshire/North Wales bods for a mini fly in/fly out???
  8. Sorry to disappoint you Simon but it isn't really aliens, its just twits with planks of wood and bits of rope and too much time on their hands.....they're probably all doleys.....
  9. Hi Chris, Didn't know you had a synth. Good to see someone up in the air last night. Will try to get up tonight if possible. There is a field near me you an land in and take off again if you like. Weather dependant of course.......
  10. Thanks Coggie, Doesn't look very happy does he???
  11. Sorry Coggie, No link in your post. To what are you referring?
  12. I waved at a gent in an orange tipped paramotor (I think a synthesis) as he flew over my house this evening. I was very curious to know who he was and more importantly where he took off from. Always looking for a good local takeoff site. Who are you? Pop in for a drink some time. There was a field near by you could have landed in. Perhaps if the wind is favorable tomorrow I might try to get up and join you.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum. First up, we were all in your position once so don't worry, you'll sort it out. Second you are unlikely to find a wing that is suitable for you to go solo and tandem on. Tandem wings are specialist bits of kit. Also it's likely to be a year or more before you feel safe enough to try taking someone else up. Secondly by specifying a motor that will also do tandem you are only able to look at the bigger more expensive, more powerful and thus 'heavier' motors. This may not be ideal for learning on. The truth is you need to find an instructor to guide you through the morass of possibilities. Manchester paragliders is obviously near you and run by Paul Kilburn who is a nice guy who I have met. I trained with Andy Walkden at Southport which is not too far http://www.flyschool.co.uk. Either of those will get you started with groundhandling a wing and Andy can certainly provide a motor for your first few flights. I presume Paul does too. Costs as I am sure you can understand vary considerably depending on your budget and your 'flying style'. But very roughly Motor £4000 new ( A little less 2nd hand.) Wing £2500-3000 depending on recommendations. Flying course roughly £800 - 1000. I live in Cheshire and fly locally whenever I can. There is a small group of us nearby. Just check out the Cheshire section. Good Luck and enjoy. This is one of the most fun things you can do standing up or sitting....
  14. Hi Alan, All the stuff has now arrived so I have posted it off to you. I have also sent the radio as well as I cannot find anyone 'Up Norf' who seems able to help. Thanks
  15. Alan, That link page is pretty confusing, which actual valves are best for the normal fuel line?
  16. We await your feedback with interest........
  17. Vince, Have you flown it yet. If so how does it compare with a Fusion or a Nucleon? Looks really good on paper and on the videos.... Paul
  18. Sounds quite cool to me as long as the paypal charges were not too high.
  19. Ace video, and massive progress, what a year! Congrats Mate!
  20. Thanks Alan, First batch of stuff from Maplins has arrived. I will await the full set before sending them off to you. Cheers
  21. Well, if he knows where to get one, or wants to make some up himself, then put me down as interested... Cheers Does the above emoticon remind anyone from the France trip of anything in particular? Must not do 360s. Must not do 360s. Must not do 360s. Must not do 360s. S Bends next time. S Bends next time. S Bends next time. S Bends next time. ........................ still doing my lines....
  22. Unfortunately they are not willing to sell it to anyone who doesn't own a bailey machine....
