Yep I managed to get to the Nats for Sunday and met up with ArcusFlyer again and his charming other half. It was really good to see so many wings taking off at once. Plenty of flying done and plenty of dreams for next year maybe? Unfortunately I didn't have my insurance certificate and so couldn't take to the skies myself. Hi Nirmal and any others interested, I hadn't planned on going to the Nats but a window of opportunity has opened so I will be going down on Sunday. I will pack the kit in the boot just in case. Hi Simon, Andy Walkden from FlySchool.co.uk and SkywalkParamotors organised it for me when I bought the wing. I think he said it went to somewhere in the Isle of Wight, sorry I don't know for sure. I do love the effect though. Looks good in the air. Also lets the tax man accept it as an advertising cost! FlyingDoc

Yep, I know its wimpy but I struggle like hell to get up off the floor so once everything is set up I just pop the motor onto the steps and slide it on. Dead easy. B&Q £24. Love it. Take the motor off the normal way though as I wouldn't want it falling off the step. You caught me out! FlyingDoc

Sounds like it could be a load of fun. So perhaps we can start by trying to get together for a drink and a chat. We can collate a list of local Cheshire flying sites, discuss potential ones to go ask about and start dreaming of our first Fly In. We need to start with a list of Names. Nice to see we have generated some good discussion about this. I agree with Simon that permission is more about approach than any specific bits of paper but I remain happy to negotiate with BHPA if they are interested. I have never shied away from exams, not possible if you want to be a Doctor. Certainly I would like to help set up a local club like the Lemmings or Owls, and I am happy to be associated with the BHPA if that helps. Equally happy to get on with it ourselves if they are not interested. It seems we now have a quorum. Lets get it set up. Freedom Flyers take to the skies! Its about having fun after all. FlyingDoc

The Flying Cosmetic Doctor, I am not a surgeon but a specialist in the non-surgical techniques, however some of the stuff I do such as VASER Lipo is in cross-over country. Good fun though and plenty of happy patients. Helps pay for the flying at least. FlyingDoc

Hi Nirmal, That sounds like a great idea. In fact Meds and I have discussed the possibility of forming a club a little like the Lemmings or some such. I even went and got a Domain name that might do. How do you fancy joining the "Freedom Flyers" or something similar. Certainly it will be easier to negotiate with landowners from an official club. Lets all in the Cheshire section get our heads together and see what we can produce. We can do it! FlyingDoc

Hi All, I have now done 5 hours of flying and ten or so flights from Southport and looking to expand my horizons. Looking to connect up with ArcusFlyer Hammertime Meds Nirmal etc and perhaps get some more local airtime. Still a little more likely to fall over rather than take to the air but now very willing to give it a go. When and where? Soon Please?? All suggestions gratefully received. Hi Chris, Still in the last few of my training flights so I am not sure I am ready to fly without the instructor as it were. Unfortunately the trip to Southport is a 2 hour round trip so kinda takes the shine of the flying and limits the days I can get up. Will of course finish eventually and then I will be happy to meet up and fly with whoever is going in a nearby field. Yeah! Till then, keep on checking the weather and watching my schedule and trying to fit in the hours.... FlyingDoc

Hi All, To celebrate my new wing and soon to be new motor I have had a new baptism and been renamed FlyingDoc. I haven't changed my Avatar yet if Norman would like to suggest one I would appreciate it. No obvious reason for the name change but I am a Doc and I like Flying. Also the new wing has EternalYouth.CO.UK on it and underneath it says "The Flying Cosmetic Doctor." So I thought it just might fit. So for now, no longer Snowman but FlyingDoc. Life is fun isn't it??? Will have to think of new Theme tune too but then the Walking in the Air one was not very popular....

Hi Peter, Andy Walkden at Flyschool is a great teacher and very willing to advise re equipment etc. The school field is very open and the surrounding country interesting to fly over. The only down side is that in the UK it is very often either too windy or raining or both. Grrrrr. Otheriwse I am almost finished my training and very happy with Andy's advice. Check out any others nearby, but you won't regret going with Andy. Just my 2p. Snowman ( Soon to be Flying Doc......)
