    flying monday

hi no probs come on down.im running motor in and quick flight as i have to get my tips fixed.theres no vibration on prop so hence quick flight,if anyone has camcorder bring it along....
  4. im going powick monday dan.norbertflyer is going if wind is on,if u see us drop in i will have the gx there for running in and quick flight...
  5. hi the pics from cali r great,u beyond extreme chaps dont halft get around.just wired the stop switch up.the only thing i need now is a small 2inch silencer.all done ready for a quick flight.could go to powick the traffic will drown out any noise i make for a quick float.need to check how high the brakes will be as im using my pg wing and high hang point.its sure got the thurst to get my lump of lard of the ground....
  6. should be ready for test flight next week///
  7. i had to rebuild the gx after the first run up last week.when i first rebuilt it i used the standard conrod.it picked up a gremlin kackerd.so i rebuilt it useing the billet one.i broke the tips of my 3 blade carbon prop as when standing on the frame to start it, it sank enough to hit the ground.i dont care...it ticks over great revs right thourgh the rage 8-9000rpm no way can i hold it in the garden i would say its on par with a black devil that i had but i have not gone full power yet needs running in.i know other people have tried it useing single small props with not much sucess ive used 998mm 3 blade carbon prop 2-1 reduction of a dk wispher its amazing.i need someone with a camcorder to video it to put on youtube,,dan/norbert flyer im calling u can feel the thurst from tickover onwards.i would say anyone building one to go for electric start as starting it in the air may be hard.itsr bloody great.... i use the bolt on kit 10 from affordable go karts in the states.....engine gx200 clone fitted a gx160 head to raise compression/billet conrod and flat top piston/billet flywheel/mikuni carb a must have/ r there any good carbon repairers out there to do my tips..it works/////
  8. over the mazeno pass pakistan.he took of at 4000m .wing adance sigma7-28/pap heres ppg.using a low-ratio nitro-methane-mix mix www,alitudenangaparbat.org
  9. im out with the powered hg tues if anyone ppg wants to tag along...
  10. it may appear the bmw 4 stroke is not what it seems say some forums.after a bit of research the power figs dont add up.and the price.esp the 22hp with standard exhaust/carb.but there is quite a few having a go with this gx motor.so its only a matter of time til a decent one comes along,,nice redrive and throttle set up on it though...in the kart world 25hp is poss.but hp is lost in the avaition world,i would say if we get 18hp max at present, light weight pilots will get the most of a gx 200 at the present..someone will do it im trying//////
  11. bmw have built a gx type 4 strok only $760 dollars with reduction.exhaust.throttle great cheaper than mine,2iocc prop 39-51 weight 36lbs have a look www,gaengine.com/ga210.htm
  12. nice sound/now if only it sounded like a spitfire..looks expensive..norbert flyers koing sounds great 600hrs and still going strong.
  13. great to see u finilay got to fly it.98kg, kt kart engine impressive,i take it u r landing hard.u will soon get the hang off flareing at the right moment.practice makes perfect,i still have the solo version of the kt kart engine if u still want it,free just pick it up..looks like there will be quite a few gx2oo flying around soon, build one....
  14. forgot// my inspiration came from rob shaw and sam the 2 egg paramotor chaps up north, they have been tinkering for ages with this 4 stroke.cheap and affordable flying. // respect to them.//
  15. i was driven by the expensive price of just a 4 stroke engine=£2500 upwards ,as most of us flyers dont have the funds for new ppgs we need to look at other methods to do it,even 2 stroke take a kx80 motorcross engine 28hp throw away the bits u dont need and u have a very powerfull motor, thats cheap to fix and get the bits for without waiting for them alex dell built one and it was very impressive till he had it nicked in mexico,he is making another one, take ppg trikes terry luke has done wonders with the honda vtwins 24-30hp no need for tunning either, all it needs is a bit of tinkering like u said simon.look at other peoples projects and ideas come along.someone will always try somthing just to see if it works,so far im very happy with my little project,i reckon with a 130 prop on a standard gx200 with just the governer removed it would fly well even with a 90kg pilot,
  16. HI ITS IS A GX200 HONDA CLONE ENGINE AS FITTED TO WACKER PLATES/GENARATORS ETC.IN STANDARD MOD ITS 6.5HP REVS TO 3.500RPM.BUT WHEN U FIT HIGH COMPRESSION HEAD.FLAT TOP PISTON.BILLET FLYWHEEL.CONROD,AND TAKE THE GOVERNER OUT U SHOULD GET 18-20HP,THE ENGINE IS WELL USED IN AMERICA IN FORUMULA GO KARTS WHERE 25HP IS THE NORM.IT SHOULD REV TO 8000-9000 TORQUE WILL BE 4000 ABOUTS.FUEL CONSUMPTION BETTER THAN A 2 STROKE ,WONT KNOW HOW MANY LIT/PER HR TILL I TRY IT.IT IS A TRIAL AND ERROR PROJECT SO IM NOT EXPECTING GREAT CLIMB RATES.IT IS SO CHEAP FOR SPARES IF AND WHEN NEEDED. IT JUST HAS TO BE DONE.EGG PARAMOTORS HAVE FLOWN A GX200 WITH JUST THE GOVERNER TAKEN OUT.WITH 80CM PROPS ROB SHAW AND SAM WEIGH 90KG AND THEY FLEW LOOK ON EGG PARAMOTORS FOR INFO.SO I KNOW IF U CAN GET OF THE GROUND WITH VERY MILD MODS.I SHOULD DO OKAY U CAN DO IT A LOT CHEAPER THAN WHAT ITS COST ME POSS £400.A BRAND NEW CLONE IS £110 FROM PUMPSUK EBAY.ITS COST ME £800 SO FAR BUT IF ITS WORKS IT WILL BE WORTH IT,WEIGHT 15-KG WHEN STANDARD 12.6 AFTER THE MODS//
  17. this is what it will look like in the frame.note the carb fits nicely inbetween the frame, exhaust will be turned so it goes over back of motor.hoping to get someone to weld the mounts this week///
  18. DONT KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD//IT WILL BE ME THATS SURPRISE//////
  19. I HAVE TO WAIT TILL MY MATE IS NOT BUSY TO WELD FRAME MOUNTS,STEVE COWHAM SAID HE CAN DO IT,IM ON THE CASE,DAN I HAD AN EX.DAY PG AT SELS YESTERDAY 3-4 UP CLIMBS BASE 3000
  20. It weighs 12.5 kg at pres/exhaust has to be cut and turned round.when fitted in frame i will fit tiny tac to see what it revs 2 so far it sounds good and seems to have the grunt to get this lardy up..will test how much torque it has when prop is fitted and see if i can hold on to it in garden, mini silencer to be fitted as my ear drums r still ringing ,onwards and maybe upwards////
  21. I FIRED IT UP,AND ITS GREAT// RUNS AND REVS LIKE A GOOD UN.HARD TO PULL START ON THE GROUND AS THE COMPRESSION IS HIGH,NEEDS TO BE IN THE FRAME I DONE THE RECOIL SPRING IN PULLING IT. LOOKS GOOD.SOMEONE SEND ME AN EMAIL AND I WILL SEND PICS AS I HAVE PROBS TRYING TO UPLOAD PICS HERE.CANT WAIT TO TRY IT...
