  2. Just about to book 2 tickets - one for me and one for my new "plus one" There - that cat is now very publically out of the bag. I know you'll all make Jill very welcome on her fist visit to a PMC event S.
  3. Is it just that I'm a really sad git or can I be excited too? I'll give it a good test for you S.
  4. Hey guys, Pretty, pretty please... I may need a lift home back to Reading on Sunday afternoon. Can anyone help? Thanks, S.
  5. Dear All, I'm a qualified Amateur Radio trainer and examiner. The practice is somewhat different but the theory is much the same. I'd be very interested in a PMC radio course. S.
  6. Hi Guys, I've been out of action for a while but I'm back. I have a new prop for the machine and hope to have it fitted in time for the flyin. It seems kind of appropriate that my last flight was at the last fly in - who remembers the crash? Any way, please include space for me +1 WAG but she says she's not as high maintenance as Victoria Beckham See ya'll soon. S.

Sxx.

    JUNE Fly-in.

As Simon has already said, the postcode will take you to the wrong farm if you plug it into your SatNav. These coordinates will get you to the turn down Smiths Lane: 51.782683, -1.105456 and as long as your SatNav knows about Smiths Lane (some don't), these will get you right there: 51.780262, -1.112588 See you all there S.

Hey Norman, you told us you had a proper job but now we have the evidence that you play "Asteroids" all day

    Tow Bar Rack

I've got one of these: http://www.bak-rak.com/ I think it is stronger than the Thule and cheaper. There are photos of it carrying my motor in my album. I've comfortably loaded it with 3 bikes, a paramotor and 2 suitcases and driven several hundred miles with no problems at all.
  13. Flying over Reading at about 6pm on Saturday evening (2nd May) Was it anyone we know and where did you take off and land please? Thanks, S.
  14. I have soooooo much on that night but I'll do my best to be there for at least 5 minutes! My cousin is getting married the next day!
  15. Phil, I'm really sorry to hear about your SPOT/prop collision! Have you any pictures of either? If you have any trouble with SPOT do let me know. As a dealer I have decent relationships with some of their people and so should be able to help. Yours, Stuart
  16. Well, life has been pretty tricky over the last couple of months but I got a flight in over Cambridge about 6 weeks ago - the wind was far too high so it was difficult but exciting flight Today was completely different. I'd got a couple of litres of really old fuel left so when I got to the flagpole I went for a quick flight to burn it off and get my "wings" back. It was a little thermic but once above 2500 feet it was nice and smooth. I landed with about 250ml of fuel left. Nice landing - on my feet and didn't fall over. Then, after a brief rest to refuel and greet everyone else, I decided to do a little bit of an experiment and fly to Didcot and back. So, after some really crap takeoff attempts, largely because I was trying to do it in the middle of the day with lots of thermals around - doh - I was away. I headed out over the white horse and then across to the railway line. Then I followed the railway at about 4000 feet all the way to Didcot. Over the power station (I have photos to prove it) at about 5500 feet and then turned south towards Harwell, still climbing to a peek of about 5700 feet (a personal record). On the way back I realised that I really should have done a wee before taking off. It was getting uncomfortable I experimented with weight shifting a lot on this flight and worked out how to sit in order to counteract the torque steer effect. The trouble is it meant that my right leg went numb which made an otherwise perfect landing somewhat painful. I need a larger harness I think. It was a fabulous day and now I'm exhausted so off to bed. S.
  17. Yes Dan, it was one of those great days. Apart from Mike who's motor died - again. S.
  18. I'm looking good for Sunday at the flagpole. It has been far too long since I felt the wind beneath my feet Stuart
  19. I've got an older RAD Javelin with electric start. I weigh 95Kg in my birthday suit and although it was challenging to start with I can now do nil wind launches using my Dudek Reaction 31. It is very simple to work on and restarts in the air without problem. Stuart
  20. Just a quick update (sorry for the long silence I've been a tad -ahem- busy) The SkyCar expedition are well and truly in the desert in Mauritania now somewhere close to the town of Chinguetti. Well, I say close, that's the nearest place for a very long way and it is still a long way away More soon, Stuart
  21. The Skycar landed half an hour ago having flown across the Straights of Gibraltar. It was tracked by a film crew helicopter all the way so there is proof They've been waiting for a weather window for a couple of days but this morning everything was peachy. More as it comes in. Stuart
  22. Hi Peter, welcome to the forum, glad we got your registration sorted. S.
  23. Sorry gents, my fault. I'm getting on top of it now and they should all be in the post by the weekend. The same is true for other shop orders (i.e. things other than DVDs) we've had a little trouble with me accessing the PayPal details but it is fixed now. Please make sure that you've completed the order process and done the paypal bit when you place an order. It makes life much easier. Yours Stuart
  24. Ladies & Gentlemen, At 8am today the Skycar took off from an airstrip in Spain. It flew at an altitude of about 1000 feet above ground level for 20 minutes. Both take off and landing were perfect. This was the first substantive flight and everything worked just as it should. I don't have all the details but the flight was legal. We'll have more details later. I also expect to have photos to post by this evening. You heard it here first. Stuart

    Tip to Tip 2010.

Hi Tracey et al, I don't think that there is much point in getting together until Simon gets back from the Skycar expedition so I'd say sometime in early March. See you all soon, Stuart
