hi i think we are going off the main subject. kiting on public land = practice with no engine. now nothing was mentioned at all concerning the use of a paramotor. where dogs and children play. that is a different matter.

Im doing a paramotor course which is about two hours from me so want to get some practice in when i cant get up there but finding it hard to find any good sites. Rang councils and asked about parks etc but its always a NO!! even been trying local model flying sites.
Im in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, I thought id see if any of you guys would know of any sites near me??
Many thanks.
hmm i think we are going off the main subject here kiting on public land . now that to me is ok. but and i dont know where it started .paramotor use on public land is a different matter. this was not the main question was it..

their shouldn't be a problem kiting in parks. just watch any dog poo.and any dogs sniffing around that may decide to cock there leg up against your wing for a wee or harness. ;0) dont panic. try the parks public area... enjoy yourself. keep your eyes peeled?

My daily Google auto-search just dumped a story into my in box.
Whilst I'm a great supporter of anyone who has big ideas and wants to expand their horizons, this left me feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Good luck to him but it's a bit ambitious for someone who hasn't even started lessons yet and appears to think he'll have to land every half an hour to refuel. He also thinks he's going to go from Lands End to John o'Groats in a week - Obviously it's possible ... with British weather and the fact he'll be a low hours pilot in pretty crappy conditions a lot of the time that might be a bit opitmistic.
However, I hope he realises his dream.
Let's invite him to the next fly-in!

hmm is this normal for a paraglider to loose lines while flying? quote " I was flying a 2 liner Icepeak 6 glider and lost 2 of 3 A lines on left wing ". does it say in the wing manual that you may loose a few riser lines? while flying?

I do indeed have and use a fuel mirror on a regular basis. I am just one of those guys who likes to experiment with different ways of doing things.

hi i have checked the 23m revo2 wing 70-160 medium. the 26m large. revo2 is 80-185. and then the 20m small 60-120. as i dont know the facts... have you had a demo on the 23m and 26m that way you yourself can decide whats best for you! your gonna fly it you're using it.your life is at stake. have u had a demo? on the wing? if not try it out both of them. as long as you're in the weight for the wings then try both then decide. your money your life. your enjoyment ;0) or learn the hard way!

adamjedgar u mention that u have a" have a high hang point no weight shift unit." then u mention u have a ".it doesn't turn well, however for low hang point harness i need to shorten brakes" which harness hang point would you need advise on = one or both? risers connected to the brakes and tips = 2d risers. have you asked the dealers for advice on this type of wing? the wing depending on age may need to be checked out... if u mess about with the brake risers and tstips youll f.. up the aoa = brakes and 2d risers= aoa. think about taking the wing to the loft or? get wing checked over. a very quick assessment

hmm, a strong warning to all.. Murphy's law is a popular adage that states that "things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance," or more commonly, "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong."
