  1. Thanks chaps! Glad it's not just me! All very helpful - as ever! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  2. Gordon, why do you suggest forward launches only with the cam attached? I`ve already built one, but need to do a few more flights before i have the additional stress of having something hanging off the edge of the wing.. Maybe, it would work fine in stronger winds, but when I tried to reverse launch the camera tangled on the 'd' lines before I managed to turn. My Fusion can reverse launch in quite light winds. Seemed to work OK on this video though. Gordon, I found that if I tucked the camera under the back of the wing, rather than place a few feet back, there was less 'swing' on the line and it wasn't too bad but as you say, there was a good head wind last night to keep it back Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  3. The string was 4.7meters (I know it was suggested that 4 was enough but on the ground when it was laid out, that looks a little short. I attached to the training edge using a small light weight fishing hook, about the 5th set of lines in from the right hand side, just angle the camera down and to the left a smidgen and hey presto - got lucky first time. I know everyone says that April is a bumpy month but wow, it was still very thermic at 5-6pm last night, and quite cold at 800ft! (Hence the quick turn around). 5. Hi guys, I fly a Moster Bulldog with a 34 dudek Synthesis with with an all up weight of about 165Kg. It's correctly configured for the high hang points but I find that I don't get a great response to my landing flares as the break lengths are just a little too long and I tend to come in just A little to fast sometimes. However, as I come in to land, if I wrap the breaks around my glove, in effect shortening them by aprox' 5-6 inches then it dampens the landing perfectly. I'm therefor considering shortening each break line by 5-6 inches. Anyone else had a similar problem? Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  6. Trialled it last night Gordon - worked well! Thanks for your assistance! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  7. Top man! Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  8. Sounds interesting. Any chance you could sneak a photo and post it here for us? (How's the training going btw?) Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  9. That thread was very useful Gordon - thanks. Would you mind giving me your YouTube channel so I can look at the results? The links don't seem to work properly on the iPad. Thanks again. Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.

  11. Sounds very interesting Ian. Is it published anywhere so we can all have a read ? Regards Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  12. Hi guys. Some advice please... I want to make a chase cam but am not sure how or where's best to mount / attach it to my wing. Anyone got any advice / do's / dont's etc? Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  13. It's booked and I'm coming! Can't wait! Gutted to have missed it last year. Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  14. I think that Parajet aren't a million miles from you and I'm pretty sure that they use local instructors. You've got two big Schools in the uk with great facilities - one down west run by Mr Westmore (who also happens to run this site / forum and the other is up in Norfolk I think (UKPPG). Sussex Paramotors also have a good reputation. There are a few instructors dotted about that you'll find on internet searches and it's worth ringing about and chatting to a few different schools to see which one you prefer. I would say, don't buy any kit until you've had a chat with a good school and perhaps even a few lessons in case it's not for you or you buy the wrong kit. Any school worth there stuff will lend you good quality kit to train on until you're ready to buy your own. Once you've found a school, I'm sure other members on here will gladly give you good and honest feed back about them - this forum is the 'oracle' for anyone wanting to Paramotor. Good luck dude! 15. This time of year can be really bumpy - I try and avoid paramotoring in thermals by sticking to early morning or evening flights. I have an older synth too and I have to say, on the odd occasion that it has got bumpy up there, the reflex profile and tip steering was excellent - very smooth and not too scary at all! At lower altitudes, I'd still prefer trimmers in and to fly the wing with brakes in hand, just in case - I think you get a better feel for what's actually happening that way. Have you checked out the RASP website? Might give you a good heads up as to when it'll get thermic and at what heights - it's very useful! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  16. * this evening......can't land and can't type either! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  17. Had a really crap landing evening after a really pleasant flight in perfect conditions. Came in too hard and fast, tripped on my stupid size 11s and face planted it for the first time in ages, snapping a frame strut and bending another on my Bulldog Moster. Emailed Bulldog when I got in explained that I'm really keen to fly again soon but can't without a new set of frame struts and hey presto! within 5 minutes, had a reply from Clive who took my details there and then and a new set is on the way! That's what I call service! Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  18. Either that or they're just different badge / logo designs over the years Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  19. As I recall, the different wings and colours denote membership status (ie full / associate) and the bronze, silver and gold denotes club pilot, pilot or advanced pilot status (I think, but I could be wrong). Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.

  21. I wish he'd go and give Super Del a lesson on what real adverts should be all about! Lol Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
  22. Lmao! I agree - this guy is a legend! If only all adverts were as honest Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.

  24. Thanks for the info Mike. I didn't realise that they relied solely on people writing in with articles. I assumed they'd have a couple of magazine journalists that went out and looked for stories etc. Perhaps when I've got a few years experience under my belt I might have something to send in. In the meantime, this forum continues to be the Mecca - the oracle - (call it what you will) for any one seeking knowledge of our sport. I've found this to be a valuable resource! Well played SW! 25. A good picture can be very inspiring but I'd hope that every now and then, perhaps they'd contain the odd interview with an 'expert' in their field, trial and review a new motor or two etc. There just doesn't seem to be much aimed towards motor pilots. The other thing that made me put this post up, was the 'own up' post on here a few weeks ago. The BHPA had a perfect opportunity to support a Paramotor Pilot that was virtually being accused of being in the wrong by some tabloid or other, when in fact he'd done nothing wrong - they didn't appear to support him in the slightest. I was just interested to know if other people had similar experiences Pianoman Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app.
