  1. Just an update on top 80 timing reset.Just managed to secure a loan against my house to buy moore rivets now on there way from China..got it all back together at 4 this morning ,and guess wot,it day start .got the 14 mm bang on but 14 mm takes it off the coil,so messured the old coil against the new one and found the magnet on the new coil is one eigth of an inch smaller which takes one pole outside the coil, this can be felt when i pull it bite 1 is at TDC and bite 2 must be the spark.Like i say wots going on..I am tempted to aline the back edge of coil with the front of the magnet this will take it down to 41mm .i have sett chainsaws and never had this sh1te going on.greatfull for any input even from the people who make the darn thing.Russ from Miniplane has been an absolute rock with service and guidance, who else could you ring up in the middle of a candle lite wedding aniversary and spend an hour on the phone talking flywheel and not bat an eyelid..

  2. Right for the second time i am about to assemble my flywheel and fan having cross threaded the finger screw on the first attempt.so now got all new kit ,so on with the flywheel on with the fan,on with the spacers,on with the trident bracket, and guess wot the finger screws dont line up,in fact they are half a hole out. i am shure i am not the only one to come up against this issue,.Just wounded what Miniplane are doing to rectify this problem as i am shure they know it exists, jack shit i expect.

  3. Y cant uploads be as easy as other sites or is it me ,i am sick of living,i have uploaded two photos, god only knows where they will pop up,thats if the site dosnt crash LOL

  4. Thanks Savage at last sence is starting to emerge,Cascant have the same set up,I think you are spot on the timing will be out,is it any wonder the riveted plate has holes in it i doubt weather i will get rivets big enough to bite due to the amount of times the B-------d has been apart due to the missleading engerneering ,the world is goin backwards.now i cantpost a photo Grrrrrr

  5. thanks for the information regarding the absence of the woodruff key .Mine is an early model and has a groove for a key,and i have made one to fit.the only problem

i have is there is a slight discrepancy regarding the messurment from the left side of the hole on the flywheel and the leading edge of the coil 40mm .i have 36mm..

  6. I onlye  intend for it to go once and if it is my only option then i guess a garage would make me one .if it goes again there will b a big blob of weld on that nut even if have to move the hangpoint forward  cheers KIWI K

  7. Yes previous thread, once i had established that the engilne wasnt flooded causing compresion,i had to take the flywheel off and what a game it is,only to find that there was no key in the keyway putting the timing out and at a guess thirty thou gap,and the screws tight so it must have been set at that,so its get up and brush the dust off yet again.cheers Casper

  8. engine is now apart and the timing had slipped and there was no woodruff key{strange that} anyone els  had one apart and found the same.can somone give me a link to the uk supplies or if anyone has got spaes plastic fan ect, also dose ayone know what the flywheel gap is.cheers

  9. Can somone please tell me do i have to take the rivets out to get to the flywheel need to see if the woodruf key is about to shear, its well past a joke the way its put together

  10. Yea i am with you on all this stuff Caz,I was having that problem on my solo 210 and Rowena motors sent me a butterfly with a cutout and it worked fine,.the top 80 worked fine b4 and there are 2 cutouts on the throttle valve anyway so that must be for the tickover air.everything points to the low jet blocked, and the only jet that is visable has been rounded off I  with need to start at the begining with this shit now its been dewaxed.Christian! will look at this site latter on .cheers guys

  11. Looking to get back in the air after a long lay off,and having probs starting the engine, looking to buy a new carb, just wonderd if there has been any upgrades to the WG8,the reason for replacing it is its probably as old as the engine, and the brass jet has rounded off ,just sent off for a gasket set ,it wont tick over but runs well once it starts..dose anyone know the primary setting for the conical low screwe dose it have to be wound right in,so as not to bring the main jet into play, need to get this to start first time as i dont have reserves of energy prior to flight theese days.cheers

  12. See what you mean ,it might b mounted like that to overcome throttle linkage something i have got to get my head around .Cas mentioned the reason for the blue spacer, its to adapt the Walbro since the mounting holes in the carb are closer together than the holes in the head ,the only thing i am unsure about now is should there b a gasket between the carb and the spacer, and with regards to the derlin block i can only assume that after time they warp and manufactures found that ali was a better job,the joy,s of owning a paramotor, and i aint got round to the fuel lines yet cas but i dont think it,s anything a kettle of hot water wont fix O.o

  13. I am now questioning weather there should b a delrin block.all the ones i have seen use an ally spaced? also the way the delrin block marry,s up to  the inlet port would suggest the Oring fits against the block and the other side of the delrin block that fits up against the blue spacer has got a rebate that will cause a stumble in the fuel flow and isnt laminor .next problem i have is blue spacer to carb ,there looks like a brass ball bearing in the face of the carb that has somthing to do with the air on tickover, and dont think it should be coverd up yet it dose need a gasket to stop air leaking through.I have yet to find on Youtube or any other site a vid that shows how to asemble this setup .Cheer,s guys

  14. dose anyone no the seqence this lot goes together .the white plastic bit has a rubber ring one side and no gutts in the other side ,i am reluctent to put the rubber ring up against the block although its the cool side.second should there be a gasket between the carb and the blue bit or thin film of glue, then there is the linkage to sort but thats another issue.I would like to get it right first time.Hope this makes sence

  15. Hi Kiwi k

Adventure fr have just emailed me to say shipment on the way, lets see wot they send,if they send the plastic spacer if thats what its called then i already have one of them,as you say it has to be ali and there is also another bit like a reducer .if i get problems i will defo drop u a line.and keep you posted:?

  16. Fair play Col your on the money,i just learnt that about an hour ago, thanks anyway,This is where we are up to,Dariuszk has fixed me up with a carb which has got the adjusting screws that you dont have to chase with a screw driver on a viberating engine.Adventure paramotors spain have looked through there discontinued stock and found a Walbro to solo manifold along with a air intake trumpet, they did have an airbox but i thought it would be a bit bulky so i have elected to go down the KN rought,Its been a real faf with email back and forth all day and ended up giving them my card details in three seperate emails stating that it was for a purches that was going to be higher in value than for the parts for which they were going to charge me and that they wanted me to order somthing expensive.so i orderd a new trike fully  fuled ,then they will disregard my order and refer my details to a job reference .to avoid scam emails, clever thought ,having said that i ay got the bits yet and to be honest i couldn,t give a rats ars if i never get them cuz i got a massive thumping head after all this thanks to all who have got me this far

  17. Big thanks to Dariuszk24 for fixing me up with a WB 32 .I have exsausted all lines of enquiry to obtain the inlet manifold plus air intake trumpet.i emailed info@paramotor.pl who have got everything one could wish for on a solo but they are not answering emails, spoke to Dan Burton about the manifold but he wanted me to send a picture of what i wanted since they fit the bing 84 on there machines .I have reached stalemate so if anyone can give me lead it would be handy.

  18. Hi KIWI K

I have been unable to navigate my way to the link you gave me on the Paramotorclub forum for spares ,also the link that Darius gave me in poland they have got what i want and alot more besides for Paramotors E.C.T. but when i fill in the ask a question part an submit it either they dont reply or its not getting through .I think i will try and copy there email address ,but in addition to doing that i will have to note down the part for which i am making the enquiry about .I am also  after a Walbro 32 along with the adaptor they also have Walbro carbs ,and the prices seem reasonable, but not buying one without the other .Cheers for your help:fail:

  19. Has anyone got an unwanted Walbro-32 carbto fit a Solo engine cash waiting.Someone gave me a link to a site in Poland for a starter ring cog and there prices are unbeliveably cheep

so i emailed them and have not heard back from them,so any Links would be aprecated? dam spellingO.o
