  1. Not shure weather this forum is the right forum to post this kinda thing on,so take from it what you will.Whilst taking a friend to hospital for a routine appointment,my pap trike which lives in the van (hanger) decided it wanted to start.I had placed the old brake type hand throttle somewhere on the net or swingarm ,and it slipped off and landed on the van floor on the starter button ,and thats where it stayed untill i could pull over and kill it,Being an inverted engine i always take the plug out,and its as well i did .I should have dissconected the battery and depressed the isolating switch but didnt .She was turning over for a good 2 minutes ,it sounded really sweet .I admit to being a nob .:$

  2. Just got timing setup  got TDC then turned the flywheel anticlockwise 090 on the dial gauge set the leading edge of the coil 14mm ahead of the leading magnet with a scribe not a felt tip pen

and when i pull it over its as if it is compressing twice ,i even doubled up on the base gasket thinking it could be that ,tried it with the plugcap off and gearbox off,no luck. Question could the magnet have any influence on this hard pull ,i welcome any thoughts ,i am considering letting Miniplane have a look at it I have run out things i can try.

  3. Ok guy,s who wants to sort this shit out for me,i have had a gutts full now.there is not 1 mm of coil i havent used to try and set the swine, even tried turning the B-------d round:-(

  4. I have set it using the approx 1mm BTDC and it started ,but guess wot my socket loaded cordless drill pun it up it started the engine speed overtook the speed of the socket

and undone the nut and the flywheel slipped now hows about that.It looks as if its all got to go back together with pullstart  .defo going to try and adapt flash drive ,flywheel has got 3 holes thats a good start, thanks for the help guys

  5. I have tried to contact Green dragons who originaly suplied this machine ,to be honest it would b eaiser to break into the whitehouse with a zillion numbers to ring and no one answering.

i found a number on the seatboars 35 and number 3D06 ,i have also noticed its a grease filled gearbox so trying to pin it down to a date year so i can set the squeeeez on the piston, greatful for any help.

  6. How do i determin what thickness gasket has to go back ,I have 5 gaskets a 1 o ring  the only number on the engine is 3D06 i guess thats what i go by to get the right sqose along with the toque settings ,can anyone give me a few pointers  it will save me going through reams of litrature cheers.

  7. Not really a laughing matter i think i have found the problem ,i am using an old cloth mesuring tape that my sister uses for dress making and i think it may have stretched

  8. That is correct wot your saying. Now wot i am saying is in order for that shadow to b there ,there will have to b a percentage of the back edge of that coil finger covering the magnet. So now i aligne the leading edge of my coil with a mark 14 mm away from leading edge of the magnet and guess wot no shadow that is because it dont cover the edge of the magnet that is why i am saying in the pic that timing mark has to be less than 14 mm to show a shadow.wen will this all end .LOOKS as if Dignatass is my ony hope nowO.o

  9. to get the shadow of the back side of the coil post on the magnet then it can only be around 9mm if u see wot i mean.please someone they can see wot i am on about:oops:

  10. It is the readme including pic 9 that i have been usind, the pencil is only there to back up my dial guage the point i am trying to make is i have the 14 mm cheked and re cheked no on the pic it clearly showes the back edge of the coil on the magnet or is there sum kind of reflection going on here because on the end of the magnet there a lighter shade is that the reflection from the coil.on your settings where is the back end of the sitting

  11. With the above settings now it would appear that the magnet is nither on or off the coil its the pull inbetween ,is that correct? question at what  position is the magnet in relation to the coil when the spark takes place ?

  12. Getting TDC is not a problem i simply make a pencile dot on the piston through the egsaust port just b4 it dissapers ,then with a mark 14 mm ahead of the leading magnet set the coil to that mark as shown in the pictures ,wot else can go wrong?

14a is a base gasket .   Miniwings mentioned head gasket . My top 80 also has a oring for compression seal .

    cas .

Got that Cas,but now i got to work out the squish Trish ,i feel like taking my life, and b4 i can do this i gota get it timed up

    I dont think i can go on,O.o
