  1. Point taken lads.

Me and a few lads landed at a pub last week for a soft drink, came to start the engine to take of and get going and the pissing thing wouldn't start.

This is the 1st time i'd landed away from my take off field for fun.

As you could imagine I was a tad stressed, I had about 50 people looking and asking how do you take off, why isn't it starting, what you going to do now, etc etc ...

The engine was still warm from landing.

The starter was turning it over but nothing i took the pulg out and swaped it with a new one (I carry a spare).... The engine blipped once but didn't start.

I took the plug out again and it was bone dry, FUEL !!

Eventually I tried choke and it started 1st time.

It's never needed choke when the engine is warm before.

It has no starting issues since.

The above made me think I should maintain the engine.

    Cheers

  2. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic video Carl, truly awe inspiring. 8)

Cheers mike, you coming on the next trip to Snowdonia then ?snippets of

Tis Craig, not Mike, nay bother though :D , unfortunately I'm only a very envious onlooker at the minute but will be doing my training next March then will be happy to join some obviously talented piolts for some very much needed (and wanted!!) experience.

Any snippets of advice etc would be gratefully accepted, I'll start another thread for that............

    I'm sorry Craig's

I will see you in Sheffield next weekend, with Mike lol

You will love this sport... Prepare the wife, because you will never see her.

  3. Ok the time has come, i need to make sure my motor is tip top :D

    I have a Parajet Volution.

I've done about 20 hrs on it and it runs perfect still !

    However...........

Do i strip it down to check the insides ?

I'm no mechanical genius by far so what is involved if I do have to maintain the engine.

    Thank you in advance.

  4. The Agama dealer in UK is

    http://www.x3mparamotor.co.uk/x3mparamo ... ories.html

His name is Peter and you can contact through the website above. I bought one from him last year. Had to post a cheque before he sent it so payment options a bit limited however he sent it OK and no complaints about delivery & product.

I keep mine permenantly on my motor as it doesn't get in the way.

Off flying next week in Snowdonia with Paul Haxby & 3 others. Weathers looking good. :dive:

Ahhh mate, me and morgy flew it a few weeks ago. Was one of my favourite flights I've done.

  5. I use the microavionics headset. It is the business for listening to music on your phone / ipod. I had a bluetooth adapter so I could make phone calls too but realised I didn't relly need to do that much and itwas another thing to charge.

I use a radio and it works fine, for a conversation it is best to come off the throttle I fine as it is quieter and less interference.

Dont mess with the cheap ones, just get the best - I wish I had done it first.

    Hi stu.

    Can I pick your brains.

The telephone lead Mp003 links up to what phone ?

Surely this will play iTunes through the phone Mp003 lead ? Or not ?

    Cheers.

  6. Hi All ...

I'm thinking about using my radio more, currently i have a YAESU FT-270 it was brought as a gift from a mate who owed me a favour.

The head set i tried using was Gold Star headset Peltor Optime 1, however after using it one I've never used it since. It was shite!!

I am assuming it was the headset that was failing, so after looking on tinternet that MicroAvionics MP001 - Stereo Paramotor Headset With Side Tone might be the radio for me. I like the fact you can connect phone/Ipod.

Some one did tell me 2strokes can effect your radio, is this correct ?

Does anyone else fly wit the configuration i am intending on using ?

I have not got a clue about radios so please keep things simple for me.

    Cheers

    Carl

  7. horses for courses mate, most people have a couple of motors before they really feel comfortable with a machine/brand, its no different than choosing a wing, get what YOU feel comfortable with, thats what counts.

Now if we're talkin wings then I love my Revo2... but I guess that's another thread... Lol

But I love my Gin Airflex more ...

  8. I don't know anything about it ??

    Am i missing something ?

serves you right for getting married and pissing off to the sunshine for 2 weeks..... lol

Ha Ha i guess your rite.

And more of a piss off is seeing a PPG fling over the beach most days.

However its Flyable Wed Thurs and Friday so Im going to make the most of it !!

If the weather plays ball and Morgy's still around Im going to meet up with him in Wales.
