  1. This is BRILLIANT!!! Thank you! I have been to Laragne a few times with my motor and have been looking for other airfields I could fly from to explore the mountains a bit more. This really opens up the horizons. Now all I need is more time to actually do this and I am all set Eugene
  2. All images of the top-of-the-line factory motor in this frame show it without a cooling shroud. They put the cooling shroud on the mid-level version, but not on the factory motor version? Or did they not spec it to save a few more grams?
  3. Thank you, Seymore. Turned out to be a beautiful afternoon for a nice mellow flight along the downs. Landed with just enough light left for packing up. A beautiful sunset flight, and it turns out my camera was recording after all
  4. Sunday sounds good to me. Count me in. That is if there is another takeoff available, if you are planning to fly there from Hambrook then perhaps another day. Eugene 07738362285
  5. Hi Barry, Sorry to hear about the troubles with the neighbours. I had a chance to fly at this site last weekend following Mark around and down the coast. A beautiful if slightly chilly flight. I live in SW London and this is my closest coastal site. Please put me on your list of your interested local pilots and let me know if you decide you can accept a few more members. Oh, and I already comply with rule number 7 Thank you, Eugene 07738362285
  6. If it is a weekend and the weather looks good drop me a line - I am usually interested in a good flight with another pilot. And now that I have a GoPro it may well be documented Eugene

    Service?

Thank you, guys. This sounds reasonable. I forgot that I can take the motor out of the frame and send it off to the manufacturer. Now I need a few nice flyable weekends to make my next-motor research a little less theoretical Cheers, Eugene

    Service?

I am going to be getting a new motor soon and after looking around I got my short list down to about three - 2 two strokes and a V5. Now looking a little more into it, it sounds like there is quite a bit of ongoing service required for the two strokes - for example the Moster. I am not terribly mechanical, and other than the most basic torque checking I would rather have someone who know what they are doing do the work. Here is my question: Who does your 2 stroke service? (I mean serous service that requires opening the engine and the carb) How do you do get your motor there? For example, for the Moster, after 100 hours you are supposed to replace a reed valve and a number of carb components. I know for some of you guys on this forum it sounds simple, but I would rather not have the guts of my motor all over the dining room table... So what are the alternatives? Do you send to the Vitorazzi factory? Thanks, Eugene
  9. Darn. I wish I could have been there. Sounds nice
  10. Finally got to put some images together from this flight. Let's hope it will help us get more people up there next time it is flyable https://picasaweb.google.com/110584880390036545493/PPG_Newhaven_20_11_2011?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCIfdlvyN54Ki9wE&feat=directlink
  11. Let's look at the weather one more time tomorrow - currently the forecast for Brighton area is almost due east wind... Not the safest thing to have on the SW facing cliffs. If the forecast holds will I be able to tempt you to come fly over Avebury with me? Actually... I take that back - looking at the terrain map of this area on google I think it would be great to go exploring the Firle ridge and the hills inland and to the east of Newhaven, plus the Cuckmere delta and that whole area looks nice too. Now let's just hope the forecast stays on the light side
  12. I am interested in Sunday Morning. Absolutely have to be back in London by 5 pm. But we can start as early in the morning as you want. Eugene 07738362285
  13. Hi Robin, I am in SW London and have been looking for people to fly with in the Newhaven area. I got in touch with a couple of guys on this forum last week and was even planning to go fly there today, but the forecast was just too bad and I ended up doing other things, even though now it sounds like I missed some nice smooth air this morning. Oh well, can's get them all Let me know next time you are heading out and maybe we can connect. Eugene 07738362285
  14. Yep. I will make sure I read them. I will check the weather one more time Friday afternoon and make the final call then. Also, I spoke with Luke a little earlier today. Hope the weather hold and I get a chance to fly with you guys this Saturday. Cheers, Eugene
  15. I have posted on a different thread - I would love to come fly Saturday morning. I think that will be the least windy part of the weekend. I have not been to Seymore's field before. Is that where everyone is meeting? I will try to track down Seymore and get his permission in the next day or two, but if the plan is to meet somewhere else could you guys drop me a line on PM? Cheers, Eugene
