  1. Having watched Simon's take off attempt from a side view I'd say that if he'd kept running another mile or if the ground had simply opened up below he would not have taken off, just was nowhere near fast enough and the engine was nowhere near noisy enough!

  2. Talking of fire extinguishers, does anyone know what happened to me in all the excitement. I'd fully understand if it was slung in the tree in disgust as the bloody thing failed but if someone has got it, could you let me have it back as I'd like to get it recharged and it fits nicely in a cradle in my van.

Years ago I saw some tiny fire extinguishers about the size of a litre bottle of oil, perfect for carrying on your actual paramotor with you (imagine if Pete had one on his harness!). Can't seem to find them anywhere, anybody got any ideas?

To add to the above, I find it very comforting to see all these safety measures happening, it often takes an incident to make things happen but thats the same with all sports. I hope I never see an incident like that again but if I do then I'd like to think we could be a little more prepared for it!

  4. About 14 months old and with 50 hours.

Available in about 3 weeks when Deano from Skyschool brings it over, it's from one of his customers who has changed to a 3 part cage to fit in a smaller car, has been maintained by Deano!

Great buy for anyone wanting 2nd hand, less than half price with the exchange rate as it is at the moment!

His Pap F200 motor is also for sale £2k with around 70 hours on it, cage has been straightened out so not perfect but this one will power a trike or tandem!

Shout me for more details or shout him yourself if he is on your facebook friends!

    Cheers

  5. What I need to know is who is going to bring the TV for the Turkish Grand Prix now that Pete can't drive his van?

    Anyone?

you dont get rid of me that easy

    Pete b

I know, if drilling those little holes in your petrol tank last Sunday didn't work then nothing will!

  6. Pete you don't owe anybody anything matey, it was certainly the best entertainment of the weekend.

Tell you what though, I'll buy you a barrel of beer if you can replicate it in front of my video camera sometime!

But seriously, you'd have dived in and helped just as everyone else did, knowing you're ok mate and are in high spirits is reward in itself!

What a great bunch of people are these paramotorists eh?

  7. In a macabre twisted way Pete you're quite proud of last Sunday's event aren't you??

Its the Paramotorist equivalent of saying you served time in 'Nam :D

It'll make a few interesting conversations for years to come!

Did I mention that I had my first perfect 2 feet and stay on 2 feet landing last night, about time after 17 bloody attempts?

    Anyway, yes, awesome vids!

  8. I agree completely! I think we all get too complacent but this is a dangerous sport, should be areas for warming your engine up etc (although my opinion is that an engine should ONLY be started on your back).

Lets lead the way at this next fly-in!
