poz
I had been trying to justify parting with some dosh to get a years subs for Vimeo Plus at $59. Yesterday I thought I'd just go for it. I went through all the boxes, entering all the details, then right at the end, when I ticked the UK box, they slapped on VAT taking it to over $70 I cancelled on principle because I hate it when companies let you go through the whole process before upping the price (usually it's airlines) Last week I uploaded a paramotoring video to YouTube, but it came out silent due to my choice of (not allowed) music. So, I changed the music and uploaded again and all was fine. Then, as I really liked my original choice of music, I uploaded the same video to Vimeo (free version), which Vimeo allowed. When I watched them back to back, YouTube HD (at 1080p) seemed to be better quality then Vimeo HD Which do you reckon is better? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpz5lACtpyE http://vimeo.com/26258005 Dan
bholleran
Hi, Cracking video I have just played both back on a 150 inch projector as I find it shows up quality differences really quickly. IMHO. Both videos are good in terms of resolution and could not tell them apart. However the youtube video was much smoother at playback. haze
I'm having massive problems uploading to youtube. Just sits there FOR EVER (left it on all day today and yesterday) and never finishes. Doesn't timeout or anything. I've googled for solutions and disabled firewalls/antivirus etc...but no joy. Getting bored with it now! Guest
I found out that if you loose your connection for just a second on the tube, it will stop the upload That can be a pain in the arse when you live in a village where an internet connection is often on and off. My tips are, if you see it frozen (it WONT start again) so sack it and try again.. And, close all other internet browser windows and turn off your Skype. On this occasion I would love to be able to say get a Mac, but I dont think it will help you on this one. SW
aquatix
Dan, you should try Exposure Room as it offers the same quality as Vimeo+ for free, with no problems over music or video length, plus you can add photo's in the gallery. Choice of players (Flash or HTML5) with quick & smooth loading, full embedding and download options. Only 720P resolution but that is perfect for most users. Also, you avoid some of the stupid comments on YouTube.... I'll hopefully be adding some video's there this weekend..... http://exposureroom.com/members/Parafly/videos/
trm8620
Vimeo for sure, it's like youtube but looks better and has less rubbish. The staff picks and hd channel are worth a look. I have to use the Vimeo desktop uploader as my internet connection is at best rubbish, at worst unusable!! hence another new user name for me! (something to do with to many ip addresses causing me to get blocked (again)) Tom Some of my favourites: http://vimeo.com/24304855 http://vimeo.com/25037336 http://vimeo.com/18280328
