wildboy
I am a complete newbie about to start training and I wondered what the logistical possabilities are of flying from hampshire across the solent to the Isle of White. At this stage its just an idea for the distant future but I wondered if it was an easy and safe thing to do or something thats an absolute no no from the outset. I have always been able to see the Isle of White from my bedroom window ever since I was a kid and always dreampt about taking a boat across but with this new sport interest it would be even more satisfying to conqour the island by flying in. Guest
Easy when you know how It is fairly messy airspace but I know that plenty of people have done it in the past. I suppose it boils down to where you live exactly. Welcome to the Paramotor Club SW

phil1975
I'm pretty sure this has been done. It's a trip we planned as part of my training as it requires knowledge of glide ratios, air law & navigation. Once I'm qualified it's well up there on the list of flights I would like to make!
bholleran
Hi, Yes it is possible. It was done recently. See the following link. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5933&hilit=top+gear&start=0 We also have a new field in the area that should make it easier in future. Have a look in the west sussex branch.
