haze
Hi all, This may be one for Eddy, but if anyone else wants to jump in then please do... I've got a couple of Cobra MT600 PMR Radios which were given to me as a gift. They work fine for talking to each other while airborne and also between me and someone on the ground... BUT... I get a constant pulsing/clicking in the headset almost as if the radio is momentarily receiving and then putting that through to the headset. I also have a phone/mp3 connector on my Microavionics headset and when listening to music, this pulsing cuts into the music. I spent some time in Spain recently working with a paramotor training school and noticed that their PMR radios did the same thing with my headset. Is there a dipswitch or something I can change to stop this or is it a common issue? Cheers Steve
alan_k
Hi Steve, I think it is probably the power save function of the radio cutting in. Look at the display, does the clicking start when 'Power saver' appears on the display? This is about 10 seconds after switch on or after signal reception. I don't think you can turn it off so it looks like you're stuck with it on that radio Cheers, Alan
fanman
What are the various on/off settings at for the 12 dip switches in the left earcup? How far spaced apart are the clicks? I have experienced something similar with the clicks about 1 second apart. Are they loud or quiet?
alan_k
Steve, it could be that the radio is going into power save mode. Look at the display, does the clicking start when 'power saver' appears, about 10 seconds after switch on or signal end If so you are probably stuck with it Cheers, Alan
