Ciaran
Hi guys, I have been flying for 7+ years now, I’m applying for first mortgage in the next month, not part of any club or a BHPA member. Can anyone give me some advice for the life insurance side of things, is it better to be affiliated with the BHPA or similar before applying? paraflyer17
You don't need life insurance to get a mortgage (though obviously it may be sensible to do so depending on your circumstances) I'd probably keep the two things seperate. Different insurers will have different requirements as regards flying. I'd see what your insurance brokers says, and based on past experience I'd be inclined to use a specialist insurance broker for that rather than a mortgage broker. But that's just my opinion, having had pretty poor advice on more than on occasion.
admin (Simon W)
The subject wont come up during your mortgage application and will have no effect on the result. As above, separate the two things. Buildings insurance however can some times be a term of the lender. SW
