IanInJordan
All, I am experiencing occasional kickback on the starter chord while attempting to start my MY19 185 Plus. Feels like the timing is out, firing while the piston is sufficiently before TDC and sending it all in reverse while the starter pawls are still engaged, but the engine seems to run normally otherwise.Has anyone else experienced this? I confess to have dinged the prop a short while ago, so my current theory is that the Woodruff key (M035) holding the flywheel (M034s) has partly or fully sheared, allowing the flywheel to shift around the crank, which would put the ignition timing out. Currently sourcing a puller to remove the flywheel and inspect the Woodruff key but any thoughts in the meantime would be appreciated. Edited June 1, 2020 by IanInJordan Sent before finished. steelmesh
Hopefully the belt slipped instead of shearing the key!
simonhunny
that was normal behaviour on my moster, which had no impact/timing issues, so if its running normal I would just fly it before you take something apart that you dont really need to
