  2. Hi all, I am running a MY19 Moster 185 on a Parajet Zenith but am not sure of the best way to secure the fuel primer bulb to the Zenith frame. Would anyone have a pic of how they have mounted theirs? Much appreciated. Ian.
  3. Hi all. Doing some work on my MY19 Moster 185 in order to see where air is getting into the fuel line. Chief suspect is currently the upper end of the in-tank flexible fuel line. On disassembly it was found to be pushed on to the barb of the in-line connector without a clamp of any kind. I have ordered a double-eared 8mm fuel line crimp, as this is the only option I can find that will fit though the threaed insert in the tank. Anyone come across a more elegant solution or know what is originally fitted to a Parajet Zenith tank? Regards, Ian.
  4. Seems like it. Feels like a finer thread on the Low screw might have been a good idea, as that would have made it less of a blunt instrument for tuning.
  5. The attached section of the Vittorazi user manual suggests max CHT and EGT to be 250C/482F and 550C/1,022F respectively, so sounds like yours is running lean. I now seem to have sorted my tuning woes with which I started this thread. Engine now runs sweetly on startup and in the air. I was surprised at how small the low speed adjustments needed to be however. My CHT is now steady at approx 150C/300F in cruise. I think this may be slightly rich but I am starting and taking off at 2,700ft altitude but grateful for other views on this. Moster 185 Specs.pdf
  6. All, Thanks again for input on this. Still struggling with the tuning to be honest. I have tuned according to above settings and advice so it idles properly and accelerates cleanly to max revs with a sudden application of throttle from idle. If however I hold it at 3,000-3,500rpm and then give it rapid full throttle, the engine dies completely. I read elsewhere that this a characteristic of a diaphragm carb at mid range revs and 'flooring' it from mid revs should be avoided.
  7. There seems to be a variety of guidance on this. Parajet now seem to suggest Motul 800 only, whereas I had the attached originating from Vittorazi and dated Apr 2020 forwarded to me from a dealer.
  8. All, I am experiencing occasional kickback on the starter chord while attempting to start my MY19 185 Plus. Feels like the timing is out, firing while the piston is sufficiently before TDC and sending it all in reverse while the starter pawls are still engaged, but the engine seems to run normally otherwise.Has anyone else experienced this? I confess to have dinged the prop a short while ago, so my current theory is that the Woodruff key (M035) holding the flywheel (M034s) has partly or fully sheared, allowing the flywheel to shift around the crank, which would put the ignition timing out. Currently sourcing a puller to remove the flywheel and inspect the Woodruff key but any thoughts in the meantime would be appreciated.
  9. I am using 95 RON fuel mixed at 2% with Motul 710, as per latest Vittorazi guidance.
  10. Fresh fuel/oil mix plus tuning as described above did the trick. Thanks again for input. Regards, Ian.
  11. Thanks Kiwi. Useful. Motor is sub 10 hours run time. Putting fresh fuel mix in and will give it another go. Regards, Ian.
  12. Hi all. Struggling to tune the Walbro carb on my MY19 Moster 185. Seems to be running rich at idle from the spark plug colour and exhaust smell. If I lean it using the low jet screw, it stalls when I throttle up from idle. The high jet is still capped with the factory tamper proof cover, so that has not moved. Any advice much appreciated.
  13. All, greetings from a newbie having just taken delivery of a PJ Zenith with a MY19 Moster 185+ fitted. Could anyone confirm the correct routing for the cable of a left hand throttle? There is a loop clamp that attaches to the backplate somewhere. Thanks, Ian.
