  1. It's supposed to turn over continually if you keep you finger on the button :-)

If it's been laid up for a few months the carb diaphragms will be past their best. Do you have fuel getting into the cylinder? Does the plug get wet if you turn it over with the choke on?

  2. Can't think of anything better than the lingering smell of 2 stroke and a waft of smoke, to attack the senses and give a third dimension to a display. It's not as if a kitten dies every time the smoke button is pressed :-)

  3. How's about another angle.

A cold engine is more powerful than a hot one.

A correctly pitched prop will reach operating temp at max revs and stay pretty much there.

An over pitched prop will spin up to max revs when cold. but will then quickly loose power and slow down as the motor is forced to work harder and hotter.

    Probably :-)

  4. Think thrust will be a suck it and see job. Booted I'm just under 60kg and flying a 23 fusion. It's got enough grunt for easy nil wind takeoff and a leisurely climb. But for playing low level I require a little more :-)

And it does indeed have a clutch :-)

Come on down to Membury and have a test fly.

  5. Think you just doubled the power of a 2cv Ed :-)

I will take the tank off tomorrow sometime, you just call me when your free and I will pop up to you and swap them over, being a man of leisure anytime is good for me :-)

  6. Doing a little maintenance on my little pap (top80) trying to find the reason for a distinct lack of power.

To cut a long story short, I need a genuine reed block to replace the bendy homemade version that currently resides in the intake port.

Anyone have a spare lying about. Genuine parts from pap might be difficult as they're now on holiday till 24th Aug :-(
