It was there earlier guys I saw it. Magnetic carabiners, but the sexy birds demonstrating them did it for me!!!

Use a park, you shouldnt have any problems with public places if your just ground handling though you might not want an audience.

This sounds like an experience had by a chap who bought a V5 over a year ago. He thought it was just him not doing something right, turned out it was a decompresser fault. I dont know exactly what had happened but needless to say it was sorted and afterwards it was as easy to pull as all the vids etc suggest.

I didnt pay enough attention to the initial post, annual running cost is hardly worth considering. I was saying that the initial cost spread over the expected ten years life expectancy is half the cost of fags.

Balanced over time it's about half the cost of smoking.

A decent motor and wing could be good for ten years averaging 40-50 hours a year.

Marking the rotors position relative to say piston tdc before disassembly would be the thing to do but if its already in bits then a posting on the top80 group forum would seem to be in order.

What tent u got Dan? I haven't bivouaced yet but dead keen. The V5 is defo the machine for it, I have at least 6 hours range with mine, infact last Sat lunch I flew it slow and got 98 minutes for 3 litres!

Sure thing Tom. We have a couple of sites at Northampton which makes places like Solden Hill a nice little xc target. I wasn't intending to land there initially because of the tenner visitor fee but I wouldn't have made it back if I didn't! The chap there said that he has never known anyone actually being charged. Drop in on ours if your out this way.

I fly all year round, as long as its above about 5 degrees, below that its too cold to fly for any decent length of time

My Bailey stays lovely and clean, no black oil build up like on 2 strokes, thats about it really.

...Nah you need to try one! I dont think there is a v5 owner who wishes they could change any aspect of their machine.

I sometimes ponder on a radical alternative to the prop, but imagine how quiet and efficient it would be to have blades 10 feet long assuming the obvious problems could be resolved also at the high torque required contra rotating blades would also be needed. I dream on...
