  1. I can't understand why more pilots don't mount their reserves on the side of their motor's.....It counters torque steer, and there's no chance of leaving it behind when you go for a fly.. :?

    Neil.. :D

  2. Brilliant Lee, hope the calf is better very soon.
....thinking the old buggers going to do this,

You've got some catching up to do, us old buggers love it too 8)

... after disclosing my, classified top secret, weight and a discussion of what I want from the sport I opt for the Dudek Synthesis 34 and get it ordered for next time.

    You lard a*se

Sounds like good progress apart from the calf problem. Good choice of kit, you'll soon be up and away.

    Cheers, Alan

Nothing wrong with the Synthesis 34.....A great safe wing with a very broad weight range...

  3. Well what can i say? Spain 2010 what a great time and a great gang of blokes. Many thanks to you all for making it so enjoyable and SAFE !!!! :dive:

Certainly was a great holiday Jay, I think we're all really looking forward to the next one!!!

    Neil.. :D

  4. Just returned from the PMC Spain holiday......Had a brilliant time with a great bunch of genuine lads. Well done to Simon, Pete and Colin (and especially Edson and Tony for their linguistic skills !!!)......

Really looking forward to the next one... :D:D

  5. I would be very careful in opting for a Polini engined paramotor, especially for the heavier pilot. The 110cc Polini Thor engine has a claimed output of 22HP- the same as a 180 cc engined Parajet Macro......

On the France trip earlier this year a pilot had a lucky escape after an engine out on a Polini Thor motor.....And he was a relatively small pilot. Upon investigation it had blown a 20mm hole in the piston.. The motor was brand new.

  6. Im looking for my first paramotor Vario and GPS Setup

Im looking at a used Flytec 4105 - What are these like??

I have a Iphone with memory map and caa airmaps but would like a proper gps to accompany this due to the iphone not doing point to point navigation like a big arrow pointing the way i need to go.

So use iphone for airspace avoidance but what gps would be good to accompany this for point to point away from airspace.

Years ago I used to to have a GPS 12 what would be another good cheapish option to accompany memory map.

    Thanks,

    Jonny

    Hi Jonny,

I used to have a Brauniger IQ/Basic GPS, which I believe is exactly the same unit as the Flytec 4105, (Same software).

I found it impossible to set up, and even got in touch with Brauniger but to no avail.

Despite making enquiries here on the forum, I received no replies as nobody appears to use them....I've since found that the Brauniger/Flytec units are predominantly soaring instruments, (best suited to paragliding as opposed to paramotoring).

    I now have a Garmin 495 GPS......

    Hope this helps.

    Neil.. :D

  7. My MUCH LOVED paramotor wagon is up for sale, as seen at the Flagpole and at Membury. Now that I am in London I will use the wife's car when I want to go paramotoring - no need for two in town

It is a 1995 Toyota HILUX Surf SSRG 3.0 Diesel automatic in blue. 110,000 miles (so just run in...). Fits a compact paramotor in the back without taking frame apart no problem. A bit tatty in places with minor cosmetic wear and tear but awesome mechanically with 11 months MOT, 7 months tax, recent cam-belt change and work done on the suspension.

Even has paramotorclub.org sticker pre-installed - I will throw this in for free with the wagon. Bargain!

As everyone (excluding Simon W) would agree - like a Land Rover ... but better.

£1700 ONO to paramotorclub.org members - PM me if interested. South London (Wandsworth).

Please delete this Simon if it is a total abuse of the website...!

Very nice motor Pete!!......The reliability of the Hilux is legendary (300,000 miles+) .. 8)

    They run forever!!

Don't take any notice of Simon's Land Rover biased comments.... He even had the cheek to call my Nissan Pathfinder a "hairdressers 4x4" , when in reality the Pathfinder is up there with the Toyota Land Cruiser....And then some!!!...... :D

Bearing in mind you're now living in Wandsworth, I would have opted for keeping the Toyota and selling you're wife's car.....The Hilux having an excellent platform for a rear mounted .50 Cal.........Just what's needed to keep any potential paramotor thieves at bay......

    Neil.. :D
