  1. I believe Joint Aviation now handle all of On Risk's business. Looking through their policy wording from last year (2010) they don't specify any level of pilot training or experience, although they do have a "Due Diligence" clause and "Compliance with Air Navigation Orders, etc" which could negate a policy if the pilot was flying in breach of any air law or regulation, or could not prove they had taken reasonable steps to undergo training, pre-flight their equipment etc.

Most policy's have a limit on time spent abroad - to ensure they are genuine UK residents.

Personally I found the BHPA insurance suited my needs best for all round liability, and it was cheapest to cover the equipment on my home insurance policy for theft or accidental damage - as specified sporting items to be taken away from home (like a bike or laptop).

I also have an annual multi-trip foreign policy which covers just about every land, air and water based hazardous activity (paragliding & paramotoring are covered) along with winter sports & extra liability, medical, search & recue, repatriation, as well as the usual holiday stuff like theft, flight delays etc... Amazingly it only costs slightly more than bog standard holiday insurance !

If you are planning to fly abroad I would recommend either http://www.holidayinsuranceweb.com/Multi-trip-holiday-insurance.cfm

    or http://www.jsinsurance.co.uk/travel_insurance/annual-travel-insurance.html?utm_campaign=Paragliding%2B-%2BHazardous%2BActivities&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email

Right .... are we al covered now ??

  2. Factory Fresh !!!!!

Shame it has to go but i prefer racing than flying and the wife and kiddies think doing 150 on track is safer than flying at 40mph lol

    Cheers Simon.

I don't think my wife and kids like the idea of me flying up in the sky at 40mph......Or doing 150mph on the road on my Suzuki Hayabusa....But I'm not giving up either of them!!! :D

  3. A great day indeed!!!......I even got my first flight on "The Big Synth" .........

All I have to do now is make sure all the straps are adjusted properly, so I can get into the harness  I'm definetely getting there....

A big thanks to Scottish Colin for all his help.....A big thanks to RAF Colin for his advice on balancing props, and a big thanks to Simon for.............installation of necessary cable ties on my paramotor!!!!

    Neil.. :D

  4. Hi Neil, Is your new Synth set up for high hang points?

Could need shortening and missing out lower pulleys to suit low hang points.

Mine came set up for low hang point and haven't had to touch a thing, love it to bits.

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

My motor is a Parajet Macro, which has hangpoints at roughly just below shoulder level.

    Neil.. :D

  5. I was out ground handling my new Dudek Synth (34) yesterday afternoon, and the brake lines seem very long.......(don't know what it's like in the air yet as I havn't flown it.)

Is it common for the brake lines to come long as standard, :?: The brake lines on my old Revo seemed spot on from new.

    Neil.. :D
