  1. Hi, Has anyone got any experience of the Nova Speedmax paramotor power wing? Would it make a good first time paramotor wing? I see the weight ranges for all three sizes are huge so most pilots could potentially fly any size of the glider and still be in the weight range. Justin
  2. Hi Guys, I saw the Nova Speedmax on eBay as I was interested in it. Would you hazard a guess that this is genuine on eBay? The Gumtree ad sure does seem dodgy to me and as mentioned above looks like the photo's have been copied and pasted from the eBay ads. Justin
  3. Thats probably the best thing to try next, thanks. I've found in the past that some gliders do horseshoe on launch, even modern wings. I've found that it's best just launching with the inner A risers if your glider has split A's for big ears or if not then when laying your wing out prior to launching rather than lay it out in an arc just pull the centre out so it's more of a triangular shape rather than an arc as this makes the inner A's more taught so the centre comes up first when you launch as the inner A's are more taught. I used this method loads when I went to Chamonix free flying as most launches were nil wind forward launching. Anyway I'll try some ground handling test when the weather plays ball Thanks, Justin
  4. Don't worry Phil I would never take other peoples sole experiences with what I have in question and just go out and try it. It's more a question of gathering different info from different people and finding out what their experiences are on things to paint a bigger picture to see if there is a common technique in what I have asked. I will be getting my local instructor to test fly it first to make sure my wing/motor combo is suitable. You can sleep tonight mate don't worry I appreciate all your input, thanks, Justin
  5. Cheers Phil I will have a look at that. I guess it's a case of just experimenting with the trim settings but obviously trying first with closed trimmers to see how it all goes. I could be worrying over nothing but nevertheless it's good to get some advice and feedback. Thanks again, Justin
  6. Hi Phil, Thats interesting to know and concludes what I was thinking. Just out of interest how much travel did the trims have on your Arcus and did they make much of a difference to the trim speed of your glider between fully open and fully closed? My Ellus has a 5cm trim range which doesn't seem a lot to make a big difference. Did the 1/2 inch trim on your glider make a difference on launch for you? Thanks for your input, Justin
  7. Hi Guys, Can anyone advise on the trim settings for launching with a standard paraglider fitted with trim risers? The glider is a SOL Ellus which I bought a set of paramotor risers for it with 5cm of trim. I'm using an Adventure F3 with high hang points. I've not flown this wing under power yet but it's a gelvenor wing so rather heavy so I'm concerned that the rising behaviour on launch might be a tad slow as it can be when I free fly it. I was thinking that if I maybe released the trims open prior to launch it would give it a faster launch due to the lower angle of attack. What does anyone think of this? Thanks, Justin
  8. Hi guys just wondering what any of you think about using an Action GT wing with an Adventure F3 paramotor? My guess is that it would fly fine throught the speed range just using the trimmers but the F3 (in my opinion) would be too underpowered at full trim plus full speedbar (max speed). I'm I guessing right? If anyone who has any more info on this it would be great to hear more. Thanks in advance. Justin P.S. The F3 is totally standard with Adventure wooden prop but just has a K&N style filter to replace the standard airbox.
  9. Hi Phil, The space behind my head was a concern of mine. I dare say it wouldn't take a lot to fasten some routing on the harness if I look further into it but your suggestions are useful so I might just look into that too. Thanks for your input! Justin
  10. Hi, I want to mount a reserve on my F3 but the harness has no bridle routing so I was considering mounting it on the top of the cage behind my head. I know there are reserve containers for this purpose and a lot of modern paramotors have a location built into the cage for this. I was just interested to know if anyone has mounted a reserve on their F3 in this way or any other and if so how? Many thanks, Justin
  11. Thanks Phil, that doesn't sound like a bad idea plus I had a new pair of brake handles included withe the paramotor risers. I will test fly it first without any changes to see how far back the brakes go hands off so I can judge whether they would be too close to the prop or too hard to reach etc. Thanks for the ideas they have been useful! Justin
  12. Hi Alan, Thanks for that, it's good to know it can be done without too much of a problem. I've been waiting over 6 weeks to receive my SOL paramotor risers only to find that when they arrived they are different to the one's shown on their website The risers they were advertising showed 2 different hangpoint positions, one for high and one for low but when mine arrived they only have one position and apart from the fact they have trimmers they are the same as the standard risers. Apparently their advertised risers are for the newer generation of SOL gliders but they did say they would fit but thats another story!!! I guess the trimmers will come in handy. Hi Phil, The break handle extensions sound a really good idea and if you have a link to who sell them would be great Do you know if they are easily fitted/removed as I want to free fly the glider too? Thanks for your help guys! Justin
  13. Hi, Is anyone flying a paramotor using a normal paraglider with standard risers on a high hangpoint machine? If so do you find flying like this comfortable enough with the higher brake handle positions and launching with the A risers in the higher position? I ask this question as I want to fly my SOL Ellus with my Adventure F3 but SOL only make paramotor risers to suit this glider with trimmers but NOT 2 hangpoint settings. Thanks, Justin

Hi again Dave, I've emailed the photo's to your email address. Justin

Thanks Ben. I will check this out and have a go. Justin
  16. Thanks guys. I think I really need to ground handle with it open and closed to load the harness and see what happens with it. Justin
  17. Only if free flying on the lower hang points can I see this possibly happening. When I've done a hang check in the higher hang points there seems no way that the shoulder straps could fall off us these are under a lot of tension. I will have to check further into this one. Thanks for the input. Justin

Hi Dave, I've just taken some photo's of the Walbro WB32 carb which is fitted to my Solo 210 on an Adventure F3. Sorry for quality on a couple but hope this helps. If you need more please give me a shout! Justin[/img]
  20. Thanks Phil, What you're saying makes sense. I was planning to test fly the harness in free flight mode first so I will probably find out with ground handling whether it causes me a problem or not. I can't see why I would need it with the high hang points but it's obviously there for a reason thats why I'm thinking perhaps it's there for free flight just to retain the shoulder straps as these tend to go slack in flight. We shall see!! Justin
  21. Hi, I've not yet flown my F3 and I've done a hang check with the low hang points for free flight mode and the high one's for powered flying. There is a chest strap on my harness which is fastened together with a plastic buckle but has no adjustment. The strap can slide up and down the shoulder straps but when I hang in the harness this strap seems to be close to my face and because there is no adjustment width wise it doesn't allow the main chest strap/cross bracing between the hang points reach it's desired tension. I am wondering whether this chest strap is only supposed to be used when using the low hang points for free flying? Can anyone help me on this one please??? Justin
  22. Just another thought! I'm using a K&N style filter bought off Ebay for a tenner with a 60mm inner flange diameter. They are used for minimoto bikes. I also bought a neat little spun aluminium filter flange which fits the air filter perfectly. It's 62mm diameter and 22mm deep, pre drilled at 46mm which fits the Welbro 32 carb perfect. I got mine from Spellfame karting and here's the link: http://www.spellfame.co.uk/acatalog/TKM ... Parts.html While you're at it worth getting the carb and flange gaskets too! Hope all this helps??? Justin
  23. Hi Dave, The only UK Adventure dealer is Mark Leavesley from Leavesley Aviation. I live only a few miles away from him but never actually used him for any spares for my Adventure F3 but if you want his details they are as follows: Website/link: http://www.leavesleyaviation.com/index1 ... actus.html Shop: 01588 630253 Mobile: 07774 856056 Email: info@leavesleyaviation.com Hope this helps??? Good luck!! Justin
  24. Hi Mike, I'm a good friend of Mark and I've gone through him to get the risers but the trouble is unless he has got a bulk order with SOL for gear I would have to pay £30 postage costs for a one-off order so just waiting unless an alternative comes up i.e. different risers as mentioned above. Thanks for your input though, much appreciated. Justin
  25. Cheers guys, I too agree with what you've said just wondered if there is someone who has tried this with success as trying to get paramotor risers for my SOL is like trying to get blood out of a stone!! My motor has got high hang points (F3) so the higher/shorter position of motor risers would help out loads. Thanks for your input guys. Justin
