A step I had tried but doesn't make a difference on my iPhone
I look forward to the theme edits

Yes Simon. I’m trying to show that I’m logged in but can’t get to my messages, alerts etc. the only way I can log in is by replying to a post which then gives me a link to log in. But even when logged in there is no way to navigate to messages, alerts etc
-
And there is no option to go to my Account page even when logged in

Or try going directly to the log in page... www.paramotorclub.org/login.

He’s not the only one Si. And going to the home page doesn’t make any difference. The only way I can log in when using a mobile is to reply to a post and then get a message to log in.
I’ve cleared cache and everything.
here’s a pic of all I see on the home page. There is no option to login

Nice pictures. Must’ve been a sod to start with but well done keeping on top of the situation.

More specifically it says “d) to visit a public outdoor place for the purposes of open air recreation—“
The law is pretty clear, it’s the GA community offering guidance against that is muddying the waters

I'm (currently) using the government's statement "outdoor recreation encouraged, you can meet one person outside your household" as a green light.
Not working from Wednesday, fuel bought and planning on flying.

Is there a contact number? Quite fancy that idea as I'm free tomorrow
Edit - actually scratch that, think I'll go north, looking at the wind

Can anyone confirm if the XCTracer FLARM qualifies for this?
Don’t believe so as it’s not PowerFlarm, as stipulated in the Equipment in Scope section

I’m really surprised you need to set timers at 6 for nil wind take offs. I’ve found nil winds a breeze with trimmers all in. You’ve got to be running a bit to get the airspeed up at that setting surely.

Last Monday, I flew to Malam cove with a guy who burned almost 15Llr in two hours... He only just made it back.
Yikes, now that is one thirsty motor. Not seen a burn rate that high before. I would definitely be looking at alternatives.

That I think is a given.
Edit - the too pricey bit, not you being a skinflint

What makes you use that calculation? Would you 'not' use Aspen in a 4 stroke then? If not, why bother using it in the 2 stroke?

Good point well made. Wasn't thinking that through. Doh!

Considering I "tighten up" flying over wooded areas, I think I might have a problem coping with that much water. Nice flight though.

Have you used the DJI in the air yet mate?
I also have one and it fails to impress when in any kind of airflow.

I should've clarified I have the pocket osmo, and that is small enough to not seem to be affected but given its sensor and lens are pretty similar to phone specs, there is arguably little to be gained for stills, although it's a lot easier to hold. Videos are noticeably better though.

2.5 lph Average on an xc flight would start getting close enough to making the difference negligible.
I can fly four hours and land with a reasonable reserve (10l tank)... I have calculated approx. 2.2 lph (trimmers in on a 23m kougar)That is pretty phenomenal and no, I don't come close. However at 3l/hr I'm happy with the trade in simplicity and lightness, noting I have the other advantages.
One downside I'll have to concede is flight running cost/hr. 2.2ltr/hr @ £1.10/ltr vs 3ltr/hr @ £4.00/ltr could soon sway the balance. Aspen isn't cheap!

From my experience with 2 and 4 stroke motorcycles and other engines these are the rough and speculative advantages and disadvantages of the eos 4 stroke.
Advantages:
Quieter, more more fuel efficient, less vibration, no spark plug fouling, no oil mixing, wide power band, no explanation chamber.
I've got all of that from my Atom 80 running Aspen fuel, plus it weighs a lot less.

Definitely prefer cold to bumps. There have been a few flights where teeth have been chattering but I've declined to descend to warm up because of the bumps (but had to endure eventually, to land)
-
Definitely helped by image stabilisation, either mechanical or software. Most upper-end phones have good OIS and then if you want to go next level, use a gimbal (I have a DJI one).

Not quite right yet. All good except for trying to rev up after it has idled for a while. It wants to bog down rather than pick up quickly. Took a couple of throttle blips to make it go again. This likely means the low screw is not right....but not sure which way yet! Someone will hopefully tell me.
A good explanation in this video by Mitch might help you. He explains it well.

Just in case you haven't started using any of these... I "occasionally" use the last one (RASP) on technical flights to try to get an idea of how much of a spanking I'm going to get in a mid day xc when cloud base is higher than I can escape from.
Yep, I use RASP too, though mainly to see what time I should think about landing by

It’s always best to check with the manufacturers and see what they specify for each glider. For instance, if you look on the Dudek website, you’ll see that you could fly a 31 or a 34 Universal.
-
Yep, ask a question about personal choice and you'll get a split decision. In the end the answer lies with you - do you prefer a throttle where the trigger is pivoted at the top or the bottom, ie do you want to use your trigger finger or ring finger, leaving the others for brakes. You won't know until you try so I suggest you play with the ones at your school to see with you prefer. The differences between the vittorazi / Polini are minor (I thought they were the same and didn't realise there was a choice from parajet, ie parajet supplied vittorazi motors with Polini throttle ).
As the saying goes, suck it and see

The list can be long and varied. There are things you could take to the field and those you could fly with. But torque wrench, spark plug spanner, Allen keys, pliers, zip ties, duct tape, screw driver is a good start. Then you could add length of spare fuel pipe, clips, knife, heat shrink tubing, electrical connectors, compressed air, brake cleaner, WD40..... the list goes on. You could end up with a mobile workshop.

Off the top of my head, Clive Mason is probably your closest.
Ok here goes...!

Nice one. Don’t fancy that muddy start though. My wing and Ozee are still nice and clean Thankfully I’ve access to a new field with some dry areas so I’m watching Christmas Day closely.
