  1. i FOR ONE THINK THAT IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE SOME SORT OF FLY IN OR MEETING WHERE PEOPLE COULD TURN UP AND TRY OUT NEW KIT. I DO ALOT OF KITE SURFING AND I AM CONNECTED TO A KITE SHOP DOWN ON THE SOUTH COAST. WHEN NEW EQUIPMENT COMES OUT THEY HAVE DEMO DAYS FOR PEOPLE TO TRY THE NEW KITES BOEADRS ETC.

OK I KNOW THAT ITS A DIFFERENT SPORT AND HAS DIFFERNET RISKS AND THE KITE SHOULD BE LENT OUT ON "YOU BREAK IT YOU BUY IT"

  2. HI

i know i dont have any exp with paramotors but i would have to say that having 50+ hours paragliding and over 40 hours hanggliding i should be ok!!! I think you have to agree simon my first landing with a paramotor was spot on  "on my feet" and the second would have been ok "on a fusion i might add" if it wasnt for the fact that your field had one to many lumps in it!!!!! "i am still nursing my ankle"

so just becuase i dont have any hours on ppg dont mean i dont have any exp when it come down to flying or landing/taking off

"sorry got out of bed the wrong side" :P

I will get my coat :lol:

  3. oh cool

there is some good flying to be had down on he south downs and around that area!!

Give me a ring when you go out next for a fly!!!!

I know there are a few others that fly down that way as i have seen a couple of motors stuffed in the back vans while fying down at the dyke and firle but have never been able to find out who's they were.

  4. Hi v32nb

I see you fly with a bailey how do you find it to fly? is that your first paramotor if not how does it compare to others you have flown ie power/ wieght/ running costs etc. As now i have flown with simons parajet the other day i am seriously looking for some kit but am still in two minds what to get. The bailey is more money and there dont seem to be many second hand ones around "and i am not to keen on second hand" simon said to me that i really didnt need the bailey as i wouldnt be doing long flights in my early days in paramorting. and they dont have as much power and are heavey? When i flew the parajet it seemed fine all but the power band that took a bit getting used to and it looked great "i know no reason to buy because of looks" and help you have would be great

    many thanks

  5. Hey dan

It was good to see you and simon "dont remember the other two guys names SORRY" I had a great day i was shocked at how far i progressed in one day i thought i was going to have to run up and down a field for hours without getting into the air. My first flight on my free flight wing "buzz z" was a bit short due to the fact i wasnt wearing any gloves and i wasnt sitting in the harness properly whitch started to hurt my back. The second flight on simons reflex wing "fusion" was amazing that baby goes and solid as a rock over head. It was really good to ground handle very resonsive and a delight to handle even in the gusty thurmic conditions we had to put up with  I flew to the white horse and then turned left going towards a small town "sorry dont know the name of it" then flew along the small ridge back to the landing field where i sprained my ankle on the bowling green flat landing field "i must have hit the only tuffed of grass in the whole field!!!!!:P At least now i get to sitt at home and drink coffie and surf the net dreaming of paramotoring "and looking for a motor"

Dan i have spoken to my mate and now i think i know where the two fields are. He is going to keep an eye out for that guy and give him my number so fingers crossed. If you want to go and see them to asses if they are ok give me a ring on 07731599660

Thanks again to simon i WILL be in touch soon!!! :D

  6. I would like to know what you guys use do you use a vario/gps/airmap? or nothing i gues your going to say depends on the type of flight you going to do as i guess its not like free flying when you nearly always go ready for an XC just incase you hook in to a corking thermal.

  7. Hey dan it has been good reading your blog on learning to fly. I have now been in contact with michel garnet in brighton about lessons. I am now waiting for a call to tell when i can go down for a lesson. He has told me as i paraglide already it should only take me a couple of days to get air borne and he has some kit i can use so i dont have to buy before i learn. Saying that i think i an seriously thinking about getting a bailey 4 stroke so all i have to find now is a wing!!! but saying that i use a ozone buzz z for my free flight "i think i can use that for now" but not sure i have been looking at the ozone roadster but i will have to have a chat with michel first!!

    good luck with the flying

next time you fly give me a buzz on 077315996660 it would be cool to come and watch you fly

Ps there is a guy who fly's out of send do you know him?? if not i will try to find out where he lives and will ask him about using his field when i sort my rating out..

  8. WOW thanks for all the comments guys

i think as with everything it come down to personal choice. i wish i could go out and try b4 you buy but as i dont have a rating for ppg i cant and i dont seem to be able to learn without buying a paramotor first. AARRGGHH talk about catch 22.

i do like the idea of 4 stroke as a few friends of mine ride motorcross and there 2 stoke bikes were always going wrong but now they ride bigger 400 4stroke they seen to never go wrong.

    thanks again

    :lol::D

  9. Hi all

I am new to paramotoring but i fly on the hill i have about 50+ hours or so. I would like to know what people think of four stroke over 2 stroke. i have been looking at the bailey 150 as i am 75kg's i know they wiegh more and are probly better on fuel. is it worth the extra money for a four stroke ie servicing etc. i am struggling to find a paramotor as there are so many out there to choose from and any thoughts you guys have will help me out alot

    many thanks
