Having been paragliding the past few days and i have come to the conclusion that as i use the (cobra) launch and i have both the A's in my right hand i will get a motor with a left hand throttle. This in my mind will leave my rigth hand less cluttered with line's/throttle etc and will leave my free to use my camera as and when i wish when flying.
Thanks for the input guy's

I am wondering what one to choose when i get a motor. I am left handed but i do most things with my right hand all except write. so to me it would seem better to buy a right hand throttle but what happens when you want to take photos all cameras are right handed. well the button is on the right side! Also would it be better if your best hand was free to adjust anything GPS,VARIO,ETC.
Is it just a case of specing the right handed throttle and then if i dont like it i can just move it to the other side?? is it that simple?? Is it better to go with what most people use. IE for resale??
Any thoughs would be great!!!
As i am very close to placing an order
thanks

Hi snowman
I am the same hieght as you and just a bit lighter at 77kg's i am also looking at a bailey. I went to the splash show and tried on one of there new v3 models and to be honest i didnt think it was that much more than say a parajet. plus when you add fuel it comes into its own as the you need less fuel for the same air time on another motor. The bailey fits to your back like a glove "well mine anyway"
If i was you i would go to the factory and try one on for size in fact i would try all the motors you are looking at before you make your mind up. I have done just this. I am waiting for bailey bring out the v3
good luck

I agree about the handling of different wings but i would not want to buy a new wing and take it to my local field thats all muddy and drag my new wing along the ground. if i was learning i would buy a £200 wing and drag it in the mud and not have to worry about cleaning it!!!!

Thanks for the replys!!
I was going to get a quater mil map as thats what i used to use use for my hang gliding many years back but i just could not remember where i got it from.
Hey Dan yes i am back now. so you have had a look at the field in send?? if you want to go over for a fly let me know i will come with you. I still have not found the guy who has his own take of field yet still working on it!!!

When is it??? i would like to come as i am now back in the uk..
-
I know ther has been some talk on what scale to buy but where can i buy an up to date uk air map???i have looked on the shop on here but could not see any.
I live in surrey could i go to a local airport ie fairoaks??
-
alot of glider pilots use these for long XC flights. I wore a pair when i flew to mt cook in nz but i couldn't use them even after 5 hours sitting in a twin astir.
-
six of one half a dozen of the other!!!
Any wing will do you good for ground handling as long as you know if you buy a more advanced wing it will be harder to learn on but will make you better in the long run but a novice wing will be easy at the start but it will still do you good..
