  1. We have received a very kind offer from the Welland Gliding Club based near Corby in Northamptonshire, to have a fly-in at their annual open flying week starting on the 30th July until the 8th August, there is a BBQ on Saturday evening the 31 July.

It would be a good opportunity for both ourselves and the glider pilots to get to know another form of aviation, and for any paramotorist to take a trip in a glider, the guys who fly from there are a good bunch, with a typical flying sense of humour ( p**s taking is the order of the day ).

There are toilets and a canteen during flying hours, camping is welcome.

The site is located at this reference 52°27'50.11"N 0°34'56.00"W and off the A6116 Corby to Thrapston road.

The fly-in would be from the 30 July - 1 August

If you would like to attend please contact Sidcoging (Member 86) by PM or email and he will fill you in with all details, he flies from Welland Gliding Club.

I hope this appeals to some of you.

  2. There are a couple models listed on the adventure web site, I guess I'll pick the one that best matches what was on there.

Preflight was good. I knew that the back bracket was broken when I bought it. but I figured that the front bracket would break only during the start torque. I figured wrong. 30 minutes into the flight it went through the prop and I learned to treat the paramotor as serious as my airplane. The concept works though. Motor conks out and you glide back to the drawing board. It an expensive drawing board though.

We have all been there and learn in the end, one way or the other.

You take free advice or pay to gain experience, and believe me,

I've paid my share over the years.

  3. Finally - - An answer I can Understand.

An American tourist asks an Irishman:

"Why do Scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?"

    To which the Irishman replies:

"If they fell forwards they'd still be in the

    bloody boat."

    There's logic there!!!!!!

  4. Dude,

I have at least 5 other people that can confirm that I was flying around on my Paramotor until 22:00 and back in the field for 08:00 this morning.

    It's Aliens, just accept it!

    SW :D

Not all "Aliens" are from outside of our atmosphere (not all little green men with planks on their feet) some are closer to home me thinks :?::shock::shock:

  5. Been on holiday for a week, it was working fine when I got home at 5.00 pm today, in fact I checked it after reading this post and checked my local station "Wittering", then I signed into the new membership page and now I've lost it to, bugger.

    Hope it comes back :?

  6. Whitters.

Well done to you and Dan, I live 5.5 miles ENE of Sywell and stood in my garden watching you and Dan as you made your final leg back into Sywell, had I have realised it was you I would have popped up to see you.

We did wonder who it could be flying locally at that time of day, the mystery is now solved.

Thank you for a fantastic write up, so much so we read it through twice.
