Bon jour my flying chums.
Spent quite a bit of time this afternoon looking for flights to Poitiers for the 21 March, but they are as rare as rocking horse s**t.
I fly back in to Luton at 14.00 on the 20th, that meens I can't get the Ryanair flight from Stanstead, so it looks like the ferry and drive down for me on Saturday, anybody fancy keeping me company, I plan on catching the 8.30 from Dover and getting to Airvault late afternoon.
I will return on the 28th, leaving after breakfast and catching a ferry about 18.00ish, the cost is about £250 and that includes the ferry and fual for the car, the £230 will be split by the number in the car.
If you fancy making up numbers in the car, PM me and leave a contact number ( landline please )
It's going to be great, 560 miles and nothing to talk about but flying.
I live in Northamptonshire.

If you fancy life on the edge (or off it) take a look at these guys in Norway, totally awesome.
I don't know how long you live doing this stuff, but it must be out of this world doing it.

Hi Togsie.
If I get a place i'm thinking of driving down on Friday night and Saturday morning, if you fancy sharing the cost and the driving, give me a PM, we could get all the kit we need in my Astra van and take other peoples stuff if need be, if you are taking your own wing then it will cost you quite a bit on a commercial airline in excess bagage charge.

It's not going to be easy, they are all good, can we have differant categorize, ie: in the air, on the ground, or just plain funny?

Sorry the above should read "can't read John Gillespie Magee's with out" not "can read John Gillespie Magee's "
Fat fingers.

Both the above are very good, but i can read John Gillespie Magee's version with out it bringing a tear to my eye, as it always has done for the last thirty years or so since I first read it.
Merry Christmas and a Safe New Year to all.

If you stay in posative G, the fuel in the tank should stay level relevent to flight not the ground, so no heart attack when you see a red light, just a thought as in turn and slip on fixed wing.

Hi Ben.
Some nice photos in there, but who are the people? we know peoples names from the posts on here, but it would be nice to put faces to them, any chance???

People who dont fly will never see the things we see, and i'm sure they will never understand, fantastic photo, brings back lots of memories.

If you could walk away, then the rest can be mended, just learn from it and move on, like they say mate "metal bends, bones don't"

We used to have a mouse problem in our garage, but my wife bought a sonic vermin repelent device from B&Q only cost about £6, it plugs into a 13amp socket, but you can get battery operated ones as well, it stopped the problem pretty quick, cheaper than a wing repair.

Ben
Are you still making the badges for us all to wear at the show???
Did I read on the forum somewhere that you were going to put them on here for us to download and print??
Might see you up there and put a face to the name.

Hi Ben
So when we see a headless man in a blue t-shirt walking around at Splash it will be Ben, is that right?

Put me down for one Ben, it'll be great putting faces to some of these names, hope the faces aren't scary!!!

Yep, I really don't see space being an issue to be honest. I can't imagine (although it would be nice) that there will be loads and loads of people able/wanting to go. Even in a sprinter, or big enough trailer you'd get a good few in. Then just dump the wings on top and away you go. There would even be enough space for a few asylum seekers in there...
Be carefull what you say Ben, re the above, you might get taken off the forum these days, look a Ross and co, then Clarkson, it might be ben_stanton next!!!!
Good idea though, brings the cost down!!

Good morning Alan.
We have done some micolight flying in france, and as you said it is a bit of a playground for the jet boys, although we haven't personally seen any the friends that we visit have told us about them, how many near misses do they have or report?
Although "not confind to......" do the French like the RAF avoid known flying fields?
