Something I noticed, when I got up to 8500ft using a wrist altimeter watch, is that the cold gets through to your arm.
So think about how to wear it if its cold.

Well I think you might have been at 23,000 feet. You seemed a bit light headed when you landed.....lol
Wow there are some great circling thermal rides there!
Will get Jocks take off as soon as I stop working.

OOOOOOOO big brother is watching!

Dont take the CP rating, go for the Pilot rating, then you dont have to worry about 3km limits.

That would be great thanks Jock.
Hopefully it wont be full of cows.
Cheers.

Congrats Simon.
Well done.
Always good to have another skill in ones basket.

Hi Peter.
Thermalling is not covered really for a CP. That’s the pilot exam.
There’s a paper exam to sit after the flying is finished.
Air law, meteorology etc. All goods stuff.
With your number of hours and learning the take-off differences and safety stuff, you should have no problem.
Best of luck.

Troll (Internet)
"What is a troll?".
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted". While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context. For example, mass media uses troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[5][6]

Maybe #50 might be good for pilots at or over 130kg all up weight. (but it is heavy-ish at 2.6kg)
Check with Simon.
Remember to include your wing in the overall weight as the reserve will be carrying everything.
An average 80KG person could be well into the 130kgs when you add it all up.
Paramotor, clothes, suit, helmet, camera, mirror, water, full tank of fuel, wing, gloves, glasses, radio gear, wing bag, mobile phone, maps, altimiter, flight deck, kitchen sink etc!
And we all fly heavier in winter!

I would check your all up weight with fuel and make sure you have a big enough reserve.
Many of the paragliding reserves may be light, but your landing speed may be broken legs or back with a paramotor on.
Previous thread on here. Pete makes some good remarks.

Just to be clear, the UK Castrol people say it’s not necessarily exactly the same, but so close, as not to be any kind of problem. They retain the right to improve their product etc etc.

Wow impressive.
But how do we know what is fitted to our wings if it has no ident on it?
Might be a soft metal from who knows?
