  1. Just emailed the seller for more information:

    Terry Clark from Tunbridge Wells.

Purchased 18 mnths ago from Parajet. approx 20hrs on the motor.

No accidents and motor with latest 2007 spec!

    Does anyone know the guy?

I think Terry is/was a Parajet dealer, a friend of Pete Searles. So possibly this had the later parts 'given' to him to fit.

He seemed a reasonable bloke when I met him last year. If the price is fair, the frame and harness look undamaged, it starts and (tied down or on your back) runs at full grunt for a while, what can be that wrong that isn't easy/cheapish to fix?

    Cheers

    Paul

  2. All,

If you own a Parajet, and need Service, Support, Parts, e.t.c you will be able to get them from stock, from me.

Well done Simon and Giles. You are a top man, not many people who trying to buy a replacement for their broken prop, jump the counter and sell it!

    Cheers

  3. About a year ago I was told about a cheaper option and bought the Tchibo winter watch for about £30 and does the same thing.

The model looks to have changed, but not the price

    http://www.tchibo.co.uk/is-bin/INTERSHO ... KU=0008979

For £90 or less, I'd recommend getting a Garmin GPS watch (forerunner/foretrek) as that gives more info and talks to the PC when you get home to tell you where you've been :-) Like this slow lap around Castle Combe on Saturday http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://tr ... es=3906303

If you are near Bath, give me a shout and you can borrow the Tchibo ancor GPS watch to compare.

    Cheers

  4. Cross posted from other forum as I went to the last one and would love more of you to enjoy the same. The camping/flying location, facilities, hospitality, food and beer all in one place added up to a fantastic event.

Camping/flying is at a stunning North Yorkshire moor site that is on the Coast to Coast walking route, with on-site cafe/bar that sells great evening meals (hence the event name), breakfast, tea, Theakstons and other real beer, all by a roaring fire if cold.

It is a long way to drive from Bath, but I'm going to one maybe both of these.

    Cheers

This weekend is to Pie N Peas North Yorks (details below).

I know from chatting to Forest Pete that he's also going, is anyone else hoping to attend the 'best' location/flyin?

    Cheers

  5. I cant belive you stayed at the Warren House Inn !!

What a great little pup in the middle of nowhere, There is a disused mine there called the 'Golden Dagger' which I used to absail into as a kid.

Do you remember the name of the landlord?

Great to see you had a fly down there at least.

    SW :D

Doh! We stayed at the other end on the track

High wind delayed our take off and the flight there. One guy landed 300m NW of the pub (in side the track loop) then sunset> sanity > safety overruled and we opted for the downwind dash home.

Do you know the pub in Spreyton? It is full of loads of different ales and has a field (arranged by the farmer) to land only in.

    Cheers

  6. All

Please put your name here if you would like to come on a Parajet Factory visit on Sat the 25th of August. We will leave Lambourn at 0900 the factory is in Mere (wiltshire)

Assuming the weather is okay, is this a 'flying' visit, one or both ways?

Factory visit and time with Giles is well worth it. I spent a day there last year - while Giles guided me moving my engine from a high to a low hangpoint frame/cage, he was designing > creating > evolving the Everest motor.

If you are still undecided - JFDI :)

    Cheers

  7. I always hold one A and a brake in each hand.

I then have control over BOTH 'wings' the left and the right when bringing it over my head. I was taught this method by the BHPA. and have never had a problem with it.

    :D

On an Action I also use an A and brake in each hand.

I've read about in high winds (HIGHER than I will fly), one hand on the A's and the other on the C's thumb inwards. I played with this in gusty conditions (in big field, flying suit etc.) and pushing down the C's, it seemed to collaspe quicker than my normal method.

I won't change my flying A and brake, but it is nice to know in marginal conditions I could abort to the pub quicker!

  8. My rapidly expanding paramotor School requires old Paramotor / Paragliding kit for ground school work.

All, If you have old kit in your garage, loft, e.t.c old harnesses (even ripped is OK)

ALL BLAGGED KIT WILL BE FOR GROUND USE ONLY AND NOT FLOWN OR SOLD.

Old wings, harnesses, helmets, anything that you have that you dont think is worth anything, try me with a price

    :D

    Thanks all. :D:D

I've a couple of harnesses that you can use. One is a low hangpoint tandem passenger paragliding, the other an early high hangpoint parajet with an iffy zip. I'll bring them along next time, probably Friday or Sunday, work/weather/wife;-) allowing.

Also, muy old high hangpoint parajet frame and cage without a motor. If you want to add some wieght to it for running around.

    Cheers

  9. What shall we do in September?

    Comp? Nav type (normal flying)

    Something for Charity?

    Something a little more extreme?

What would you like to see organised?

    :D:D

Something for charity would be good for us, them and if the media got involved demonstrate that all/some of us are 'normal' people.

As simple as giving blood or a sponsored trip along the ridgeway trip or????

    Cheers

  10. Eddi,

FYI, I will be getting one of your units for our Dartmoor flight, just have to sell a bit more stuiff to get the pennies together.

I dont think that 'your main UK competitor' as you say is someone that we are loking at either to be honest.

An inexpensive STARTER helmet with basic head set (it must exist out there somewhere!) :D

I've one of the James the prop repair man £50 headsets, the APCO helmet that was about £70 and this winter I added a £15 visor. I tend not to listen to music, just the engine :-). Once this noise slightly changed and I after loads of argueing with myself, I landed to find the exhaust had started to leak. It then felt a great decison and improved my cross country self confidence :-)

Who needs music with such a great view?

    Cheers

    _______________

    Hi Guys and Gals,

There are in fact to be two more Pie N Peas

this year with the next official Pie N Peas 6 on the weekend of

September 22nd/23rd. This is also the weekend of the Local Stokesley

Agricultural show and fair. There is a lot to see there for people

bringing family members who may get a bit bored with what we do!! There

will soon be an online registration set up on Paul Haxby's

website,http://www.axbsports.com/, so please visit for that purpose.

However there will also be a repeat of last years "Unofficial" Pie N

Peas on the weekend of 18th/19th August which is during the school

holidays of course. Essentially this is exactly the same as any other

Pie N Peas!!! If you intend coming to this one please could you let me

know direct, as below, so I have an idea of numbers etc.

Hopefully you can come to both but if not we hope that the dates will

allow you at least to choose one visit before the end of the year.

As usual we will have spectacular local flying over the North York

moors and coastline and probably one or two pub crawls, sorry XC,s!!,

for those wanting to venture away on a bit of an adventure with full

retrieve back up. Oh! there will be Pies N Peas and beer on site of

course for when the flying stops!(Hopefully this wont be until after

    sundown!)

If you need any further info please get in touch.

    See you there

  12. Simon (or anyone else who was at Lambourn a couple of weeks ago when I was last there),

Someone had a video camera when I was last there and may have got some video of me flying. I'm trying to seek some sponsorship to help me fund my trip to the Worlds and want to do a very short bit of video for potential sponsors. If anyone has any video of my flying the Plasma then I would be very grateful to receive it. All except my dodgy landing that is!

If anyone can help that would be great.

    Cheers

    Dave

I think my son took some video of yours and Rachel's Nats spot landings on Saturday ? I'll see what else there is.

    Cheers

  13. I had two great hot day helping out. Loads of nice people, wings and motors I'd not seen or heard about before.

About 70 pilots of all shapes and ages. The very small '16' year old French boy was amazing. A very skilled pilot (future champion?) and strong enough to manage any motor.

My highlights were: watching the kicking sticks and measuring the accuracy landing. Even in very thermic conditions, a few looked like they'd never miss the 25cm spot. Well done Rachel Hairs, you were one of them!

Chatting with Giles next to the Everest motor inside a Nepalese tent, added to the maddness/magic....

It is on until Tuesday noon-ish. If you can find the time, it is worth the visit.

    Cheers

    Paul

  14. If you are reading this and fancy a go on a Parajet please pop down (after two weeks time) and have a go!

So to arrange a joy ride is simple.

    Cool 8)

    Simon,

Great news. I love my Parajet, and I'm sure others that try them will. If you can't wait two weeks, have a go on mine this weekend :-)

    Cheers

    Paul

  15. I'm registered to help for a few days. If you have insurance, marshall can also fly, so bring your kit and enjoy the view!

If you are new to the sport and cannot decide the wing/motor combination for you, my guess is every combination of wing and motor will be on display and in the air. And every piloy saying his or hers are the best ;-)

    Cheers

    Paul

  16. I just wanted to say a Big thank you to Simon for organising the open day yesterday, even though the wind was a bit high in the morning I still had a great day,, Cheers mate

    Rob

Ps, May be next time you could sort the wind out so we can fly all day!!!

Totally agree - thanks for another great day and those home made cakes!

This is my third visit to the site, and every time there are more people there, on the ground and in the air!

It it nice to see that all Simon's (plus helpers) hard work continiues to bring together 'nice' people. Well done for quickly creating a growing healthy club.

    Cheers

    Paul

P.S. Next time we will fly to that pub :D

  17. I've flown this year with a large one! It would be good to throw it while in the harnees and not in the air to check I can.

    Cheers

    Paul

    All,

Have you ever had to throw your reserve in flight? Do you know anyone who has? Do you even fly with one? It will just be interesting to see how many people here have. :D
