  1. WHATTT!!!!!!!! and what A pilot....metal motor....graphite lines....and 25 sq m of wing not visible to Radar. Surely that can't be right. We are all fu%&ed if that has any truth in it. Anybody know any radar stuff or I can make some calls? regards Rich
  2. Looks a bit diy bud. Just lacking the sellotape to finish it off.
  3. Hi I had my first solo flight 20 Jan. Still have the grin on my face. What a rush...thrill...buzz. I've been chatting to friends about it and seeing them visualise the event in there own minds and grinning. The point I'm trying to make is that after a couple of days I realised that something happened during that first flight. "Total event involvement" For the ten minutes of flight all work, stress, aches and pains were gone because the act of flight under that wing was all involving. We carry all this mental baggage around without even realising it but after that flight I was "cleansed" I used to experience this with diving underwater and post dive you just feel good. This paramotoring has bought that sense back and I can't wait for that next buzz. Bring on the summer Richard
  4. Thanks for reply. That incident looks a bit more like a parachutal stall due to a slow turn which turns downwind. And he has a shit load of left rake on. Regards Richard
  5. cheers Simon fork lift....i need a bigger wing.
  6. This was my first hang check and the prop did seem to be staring down at about 25 degrees when I was hanging.
  7. Cheeeeeers Got it. Also chatted to Instructor today whilst stood around moaning about wind speed and you all agree. Simples. I did a hang check today and found that there was very little force required to twist and move paramotor 90 degrees off square. I was expecting a greater resistance to staying square. Please comment on this. Thanks for replies. Regards Richard
  8. Hi I don't understand why it may be dangerous to pull a tight left hand turn under full climb at low speeds. ( against the torque). Richard
  9. cheers for replies. Going to halfords for syphon pipe.
  10. Hi For years I have used two stroke disc cutters and during fuelling tipped 20% of the fuel onto the floor. Then I discovered the chain saw lumber jack brigade us a 5 litre can with a clever valve that opens and allows fuel to flow when inverted and pressed into the nozzle. No fuel spillage at all. Job done .....got two and never spilt a drop since. Now I see the problem has arisen again with my Parajet. I have seen funnels and jerry cans with the fuel wizzing in all directions and I don't want to end up airbourne smelling of fuel. Any body got any clever gadgets or tips for fuelling. Clever lumber jack nozzles only fit to 5 litre plastic cans. See you up there. Rich
  11. Hi Buds What happens to your wing if it starts to rain whilst your flying? Performance etc Cheers Rich
  12. Should all be a good crack then....bones terror or adrenalin. Bring it on. I also want a vario and temp guage. Small compact but not the helmet mounted job. I want a seperate instrument for gps nav and airspace. Any suggestions gratefully received.keep your tongue out
  13. Wow love that time lapse stuff. Well worth a watch as you say. Good stuff
  14. Are'nt you allowed to get any closer than that to him.
  15. Hi Buds Just ordered a new dudek wing off simon and awaiting it's arrival. Feels like Christmas eve when I was eight. never been airborne under a para wing before but what the heck it's all coming. Anybody out there with a synthesis wing with any tips for a newbie.
  16. cheers bud. I watched a few pilots struggling to get there buts into the seat so i think i had that in the back of my mind. You feel the motor weight go off your back so i just sat in. Never again. The sensation of the seat around your legs and your brain telling you your never going to run any faster or you'll fall. Its like running with a pair of 15 size wellies on covered in mud with a 10 year old strapped to your back.
  17. Hi Started my training and all sweet right up to my first flight. oops Wing took the weight of the motor off me and I thought job done. I guess the rapid addition of thirteen stone at half throttle had a bit to do with the out come. Richard.....feeling at bit of a twonk. link [youtubevideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sItVxuYfI24&[/youtubevideo] http://youtu.be/sItVxuYfI24
  18. What a lovely story. I enjoyed reading how small events slowly lead to more drastic ones. Peat bogs always look a little inoculous from a distance. You didn't seem concerned that the leaches may be attracted to yourself? Great read Thanks Richard
  19. Hi ....New to paramotoring.....not off the ground yet. I have looked at the Parajet range and I believe by research on youtube that a Moster engine is something I should be looking for. They sound nice. Power to weight is good. Can anybody give me there penith worth on this engine. Are thet reliable Can I get spares easily What hours life can you get from these engines. Are they over stressed Any help would be great. Regards Richard
