  1. Curious...was the wing carrying much water in the trailing edge
  2. But then you really wanted that outcome. You seem to be flying with no regard to the flight dynamics of your machine.
  3. I like it Pat....and sweet if you run out of fuel in the car
  4. Nice flight...weather...and views. Get your final turn around two hundred feet and pick your landing spot in the field. Final turn brings you into wind. Keep your eye on landing spot and adjust throttle if you can see your either to high or to low. Its best to keep the low level stuff into wind to help to manage any wind gradient or turbulence. With a long final approach you have plenty of time to get your arrival point bang on. ps if your approach is to low your wing will be in Pangbourne and your boots and teeth will be in Paddington Regards Richard
  5. hi Google "Cerney engineering" and chat to them. Worth a chat. Rich
  6. Hi Pat I'm not aware of a henge in that spot. A large equestrian business runs in that location. Looks a bit like jumps but in a strange shape. Rich
  7. Good sound advice. If you screw in the high jet on the carb three turns...you will have no engine in about ten minutes. Regards richard
  8. If you saw my new Dudek sythe 2 built in Poland I think you would get rid immediately. Sale of goods act is easy. Not fit for purpose....return and cash back. I have a few stitch ends on my lines but ..nothing...nothing...is coming undone. You have bought an aircraft and workman ship is paramount. Are you allways going to be checking stitching and repairing it as an when? If your anywhere near Swindon ....crash in.... I'd like to see Rich
  9. Most two strokes... Open the throttle fast and a lot of air is drawn into the carb/cylinders. This leads to a lean condition as the main jet hasn't got out of bed yet. So manufacturers place an additional slow running jet on the carb that introduces fuel quickly for this event. Its got a blockage or not opened enough.
  10. Well said Scooby.. If we don't show up on radar because there tuned to filter out flocks of birds then they need to address this .....as we are not birds. We frequent the sky and have every right to be there and we desire to be on radar and not lost in a filtering anomaly. Clearly birds need to be watched and monitored....you only have to ask the pilot of US airways Cpt Sullenger... Watch this about birds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixUbdeXCp0M Who is the spokes person for our sport and get them knocking on CAA door for our rights to exist. Rich
  11. Well done Pat. Couldn't get up today because of work pooh but well pleased you got off the deck clean. I don't know if it's relevant but I've noticed the harder you pull up the wing with physical effort the more likely you are to starting bent slightly face down with the motor trying to turn you into a rotavator. Let that motor take the strain of initial inflation. how do you do this......only kidding good job. Rich
  12. Good post That shows a product ready for development. As with most Brits we are all great at inventions and poor at bringing them to market. We don't need to appear as big as a jumbo so a modified Van Atta smaller might do the job. Could the Van Atta have a greater matrix and be ball shaped?

  14. Tuesday is looking like a maybe flying day
  15. Hi Scooby Got all that. During my glider training I was taught correct scanning and discovered interesting blind spots of other gliders below you in the circuit had the ability to disappear from view in the silhouette of the ground. We all just flew very defensively and assumed every other user in the sky had not seen you and I had a few light aircraft wander right below me without any noticeable attempt to alter course. Another pilot there saw a bon fire on the ground on the horizon and looked away. He then glanced back a few seconds later to see the pilot of a jaguar staring at him as he passed at some horrendous speed very close. The smoke bon fire was the exhaust plume. Constant bearing.....constant danger. Any way what you got for me ref reflector. Regards Richard
  16. Might be interesting to see if a small radar reflector could be carried without it becoming a second wing I for one would love to be visible to radar ...ground or air. We all know half these pilots have there faces glued to the instrument panel. Even small light aircraft seem oblivious to the outside world. Glider pilots are taught to look out constantly and continuously scan the horizon and I would suggest the safest aircraft to be in the vicinity of. We would just be a little vibration as we passed through a Rolls Royce Brent jet engine at 300 knots Maybe some sort of reflective tape could be put on the prop?
  17. Im no expert and only done a couple of flights myself but done gliding for three years prior and learn't a bit there. Farmers all want money so maybe if you got a couple of other paramotor dudes together you might be able to get a scheme for a farmer up together. Look on google earth. The other thing to assume is that all people hate paramotors so dont fly over farmers house on first visit You maybe starting the next paramotor club in your area???
  18. Hi Bud Good flight but you need to find a field. If you had any sort of engine failure or low power during the first part you be in the sea.....drowning... if you didn't have life jacket on. The council will be after you after a while. If you can't play golf on the beach you probably can't use a one meter scimitar at 3000 revs! Your down wind leg was at 200 feet over the town.....not good. Before you take off decide what your going to do if the engine stops after 30 secs 60 secs and 90 secs. Have a plan in your mind otherwise you'll be trying to make quick decisions in a stressful situation. Find a nice field...knock on the farmers door and ask if you can take off once and it will only take a couple of minutes. Fly then thank him and get chatting. Some one you know is probably working on a farm. suss it out. We don't want you wrapped round the town hall roof kissing the aerial. But good flight. Regards Rich
  19. Hi Alan and wiz hair dude Well yes to all that. Right up the pole by Membury....I inspected the shit on the top of the mast and I'm pretty sure my mobile was in pocket. Thing is I wasn't getting the noise until I started motor. I then maxed up squelch to 9 and thought I probably won't here ground crew but thought sod it. During flight spoke to ground ok, so all good. But like every 5 to 15 secs I got a 2 second bust of static.
  20. I bet that's what your co wants to do with you
  21. Getting a of noise off paramotor compact every 15 secs through 2 meter radio and can't squelch it out. Any tips gladly received. Rich
  22. Its a pretty steady video but its my second flight and well pleased to be up after a long wait. Fairly dense fog until 2pm then it started to clear. Managed to take off around 3.45. Got to about 1800feet to top of inversion and noticed the temperature increase ..lovely and toasty. three quarters of the way through the vid you get a glimpse of my port riser and there seems to be a slack line there. Well worth the wait and the visibility above the inversion was epic but vid doesn't really do it justice. Need to get a gopro. I'm crap with names but regards to couple today training who also had a good day. Laters Rich
