  4. HEATED JACKETS!!? HEATED GLOVES!!? Have you all gone mad or all gone soft? Must be a southern thing You won't find us northerners wearing such stuff
  5. I posted something similar a week or so ago but got no replies so i'll give it another go! Can anybody tell me how i can mount a video camera on my Motor or wing so i can get some good video shots with me (the pilot) in the shot, i have seen pictures and video evidence from what looks like some kind of rod or stick, if this is the case how does this work? Does anyone have any ideas i can try? Please

  8. Hi all, Has anyone tried http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/HOME/ This is a good source for weather info and the short 7 day and 48 hour forecast is very accurate ( the 8-14 day forecast is not accurate and not really worth taking any notice of) just put your post code in and see, i use it all the time.
  9. Well, the long range weather forecast tells me a high pressure and calm conditions will arrive sometime next weekend, yipee! so fingers crossed this will be my first flight of the year. Before that, high winds, rain, sleet and snow are forecast yet again for the coming week here in Yorkshire and unless any paramotorist show their hands it will be a solo once again for me! Anyone feeling sorry for me yet?
  10. The GPS 60CXs from the U.S. is also preloaded with Americas auto-route basemaps, can these be removed and UK ones added?
  11. Very Funny, My girlfriend (who is Chinese) smiled when she read that and said "wo hen xi huan ni, ni ben dan"
  12. Hi Simon, I've been thinking about getting a hand held GPS and i've Just read your post about your new GPS, i've had a look online for reviews of the Garmin 60CSx and they're all good. How are you getting on with yours? The price for these online in the UK is around £260 and in the U.S. $299 which is about £150 so i think i'll order one from the U.S., the only problem with getting one from the U.S. is that it seems to have U.S. fishing and hunting data uploaded onto it, could you tell me if you got yours from the states and do you know if this data can be removed and UK stuff added on? and i take it a GPS bought in the U.S. will work ok over here or anywhere else in the world for that matter, i do a lot of off piste Snowboarding around Europe so it will be great for that. Thanks
  13. Has anybody seen this video of an electric Paramotor? I know a battery powered Paramotor was being developed and tested in Europe but i didn't know the yanks had one flying and for nearly 40 minutes, check out the vid' http://video.maycontainnuts.com/video--electric-paramotor--208.html
  14. Hi Guys, I've decided to have my logo or a bit of artwork added to my helmet, i found this website run by Carl Hodgson and got in touch to asked if he was ok to do my Paramotor helmet, he said no problem, check out the Fantastic artwork! http://www.customhelmets.co.uk/ I'll take some pics of my helmet when i get it back and post them on here for all to see.
  15. I was thinking of adding a strobe to my Castelluccio, i thought it would look cool and that's the only reason why, i did a search for strobes and found a website with this in bold text on the main page: "Safety while flying or being on the ground, has always been one of my main concerns in paramotoring. In order to avoid collisions in the air, the pilot needs to be seen by others. This is why I installed a strobe light on my paramotor. I wanted to be more than compliant to Part103. I wanted to be seen by others" "in order to avoid collisions"? what on earth is he going to hit apart from a wall or tree (yes and i've done that before! ) and what's going to hit him? The only thing that flies around here at an altitude i'll be at is helicopters and unless he's flying with his eyes shut how's he not going to see me, oh and hotair balloons seem to be in abundance here as well and i don't see one of those with a strobe. Is a strobe worth the investment just to look cool or is there other reasons i'm overlooking like at dusk perhaps (have i just answered my own question? ) http://www.aerocorsair.com/id44.htm
