  1. Its a Walbro carb, ive taken it apart and everythings fine. I took the engine cover off the top of the engine and theirs lots of black crap around the compression button and over the engine so I guess the gasket was the problem. I'll get a new one and try again.
  2. I use Stihl 2-stroke chainsaw oil, works a treat for me ive read other people also use this too. After all, chain saws rev like mad so it must be good stuff. I have read people also like the 100ml shots Stihl do as they can mix it straight into a 5L canister but I use 150ml per 5L so I buy bigger bottles
  3. I got a Rad with the old Raket engine but not sure what carb its got.
  4. No, ive tried fitting a primber bulb but they dont work on my motor. The fuel line goes from the tank direct to the carb so theirs not even a in-line filter. Maybe it needs new fuel pipes?
  5. While upgrading my paramotor I removed the fuel pipes and fuel tank from the frame. I have now put it all back as it was before but it wont pull the fuel through the pipe. I have taken the fuel pipe off the carb and sucked it rite up with about 1 inch ramaining but ive pulled and pulled till ive now ended up pulling something in my neck and the fuel wont budge Any ideas?
  6. Yeah I would have to buy a new harness if I got J bars fitted and that would end up costing me too much unfortunately and no im not able to weight shift with my current high hang points which hasnt really been a problem. Well, it kind of was on my very first flight as my arms were aching so I had to keep putting my hands down lol
  7. Im actually from Tenbury Wells but put Worcester as my location as not many people have heard of Tenbury My prop was from Thailand and I may have to pop over once the weather gets better and once ive got more than my current 4 hours air time under my belt.

  9. The primer bulb pumps fine but once I connected it to the fuel line and stated pumping, the bulb was really hard and required 2 hands to pump and it sucked a little bit of fuel in then pushed it back out into the tank. Reading the comments above I think I may have forgot to press the decompression button I will get it out and give it another go when the rain has buggered off
  10. I started off with a completely standard Rad MXL but wasnt happy with the flappy props and little thrust so I decided to have a little project. Take a look at the following photos which ive taken along the way.
  11. Hi Wallboy, Ifd you do want some genuine Radne parts we are regularly importing the Radne parts as a UK RADNE dealer, if you are not in a hurry and we can tag on your parts to another order then we will be able to save you the lions share of the shipping and we are VAT registered so we can save you another 5% there as swedish VAT is 25%. If this is of any help to you then give us a call 01354 658778 or PM me, Thanks Nigel UKPPG I have actually been waiting for a reply from yourselves to an email sent on 19th regarding a prop plate but its ok now as ive managed to find something.
  12. With the service I have received they dont really deserve any custom. I emaied asking if they know or supply any other props for the MXL which would gain more thrust. This was the reply: Hi Nick There are no different props you can fit to gain more thrust from the MXL. We did try some a few years ago. Your best route is to get a larger cage and prop which will give you more thrust. We can do a new cage and prop drive which you could transplant your engine into and carry across as much as possible, let me know if you want to go that route. Best regards Martin I replied asking for more info on the cage and this is what I received: Hi Nick £2000 inc vat which includes a semi collapsible cage (approximately the top 1/3rd comes off) new drive system and 1.2m diameter, two bladed carbon prop. Everything else must be changed over from your MXL. For £2150 inc vat we could do the same but with a 1.3m diameter prop Best regards Martin So if I deduct the cost of a carbon prop and drive system then the new frame works out at about £1650 http://www.paraglidershop.co.uk sell new frames for just £370 so how the hell do Rad work out their prices? Oh and by the way, these were the only emails I receives from Rad..........I wonder why
  13. Anybody else delt with Rad Paramotors? I have emailed them many times and they fail to reply to my emails and I recently ordered an Exhaust Flexi-joint and an Exhaust Gasket but have just noticed they have refunded my payment and said they dont have them in stock and I would have to order from Radne in Sweeden which is going to cost a bomb for shipping. What a totaly USELESS company if they cant even supply 2 simple parts
  14. Just wondering where I can get a prop plate from that will fit my Raket 120 engine as I can only find one from Para Toys USA but would prefer a UK seller.
  15. Oh great lol I use to have a PAP which had the Racket engine with a 130 prop which I sold. I have been in touch with the new owner and he tells me hes using a 130 Helix prop which is designed for a 1:4 ratio and he has a 45mm drive and 180mm prop. Mind however is 40mm drive and 180mm prop. Do you think I could get away with my current ratio and just stick a 1:4 ratio prop on?
  16. OK, so the small pulley is 1.5" and the large is 7". I dont have any prop in mind, all im looking for is any prop which will produce more thrust than the 18" bendy plastic tri prop which I currently have So now what do I need to do to work out what prop I need? Why can I not just get any prop which has the same bolt holes? Sorry but im not into this technical stuff
  17. How do I check the reduction ratio for a new prop?
  18. you will need a different ratio. Give Norris a shout or PM, he has just done what you what to do and fitted low hang point weight shift bars. Pete Brilliant, thank you. I will go hunt him down.
  19. Thanks for that and if I had £1900 I would buy it but sadly I dont hence wanting to alter my current Rad
  20. I currently fly a Rad Mxl which has a 110cm cage but I am looking to convert it to a 140cm cage so I can fit a 130cm prop. I am looking to remove the outer part of the frame and get a pipe fabricator to role me a 140cm diameter cage which can be welded in its place. I would also need someone to make a box frame for under the harness so it can sit on the floor properly. Am I right in thinking that if I remove the 3 bladed prop, all I would need to fit a 130cm prop is a spacer, 6 bolts and a prop plate? If this is correct, where can I get these parts from? (preferably from the UK)
